Ha! General Discussion... from the OP, to vaccines, to Developing Nations,
and now to Climate Change, and so on.
My original post, to those who may even have missed the point, and wish to rant and rave,
and name-call, was only on Topic, and the point Joe Hokey expressed in his interview
    (from what I heard)
Facist screams Communist. (marshmallows at two paces) :D

Better take a very close look at what Goverments do, at this time in our evolution.
Yippe-Ki-Ya rightly sees The Goverment takes, and throws back breadcrumbs.
Nugget was quite correct and the book Confessions of an Economic Hitman covers much. (worth a read)
Though they are not called "Third World" P.C. their Developing Nations...
and they were wrongly coaxed into debt (IMF).
Now the next phase, is transpiring, as we speak, Western Democracies, and Sovereign Debt.
Middle Class Welfare may become obsolete, as many Goverments must now look at the position
they have now put themselves in. Entitlement, and overbudgeting is why they're in a mess.
The Middleclass may disappear, as the Gap between the haves and have-nots widens.
My original point was Joe Hokey's comment were sensationlist, and vague, but what he was
mooting, may be informed insight into the coming storm... or just political upmanship.
Be better informed, is all I say.
    Cheers

Governments. They promise you the world, then they give you an atlas.

Scientists are people so it's a mixed bag.

Science is always going to be incomplete.

    My view is simple.

Forced austerity is evil, but it's also the undermining philosiphy of socialist societies (like Australia)

Mind you, for a forum of anti-objectivist idealists, it's amusing to note how many here have an objectivist's view.

    Just saying.

I think the biggest problem though is that institutions like the World Bank agree to give Africa aid. They refuse to give them technological aid to teach them how to grow their own crops. Its a pretty dirty trick where they refuse to help them become independent and keeps the people there completely reliant on them because they are the ones who supply the food and water. Thats why they are so grateful to China because they are helping those countries stand on their own two feet.

Yes and there are very good reasons for propping these warlords up.

they are the dirty secrets of the whole world. cheap resources (from dirt cheap or slave labour) for minimal risk. When things go wrong, it's the warlords that gets the blame.

yes Africa needs to rein in population, but so does the rest of the world, developed or not. But hey, isn't population control believed to be the agenda of some secretive-yet-highly publicised organisation?

So, in conclusion? We're screwed .... by ourselves. So, in the end we are really writing history's largest fail. While billionaires escape to space with their harem.

Sorry it doesn't want to work...Just get on u tube and search gotland subs..In sidebar America beware, you will hear what the USA navy thinks of these subs. Have leased one for 2 years to find a way to beat them after they have taken out nuclear subs and even an aircraft carrier in war games off the USA coast.
