Have you bought something sent with Express Post, that is not delivered on time?

Even as the addressee / receiver can you claim a refund of the Express Post (EP) fee if the item is not delivered on time? i.e. if the postcodes are both within the next day delivery network, but is not delivered on the next business day; and you do not have any receipts or proof of postage as the receiver?
 
It is not uncommon and you will never get a refund for a few days late.

I sent some metal and it got locked into a WA-Vic loop going back and forth. It was delivered around 30 days after posting , I eventually got my money back for the express post bag but it was a fight.

Just fyi.
So far I have had two payments for EP not on time delivery. One as sender and one as receiver.


I currently have five claims in place as receiver.

So far two have been approved. Still waiting on approvals for three more. All from same sender and same receiver and all one day late.

I am claiming as receiver. No purchase receipts, no lodgement receipts etc.

I received an email from an AusPost customer service manager which i (maybe) will share soon, which inspired me to claim as the addressee/receiver.

I am most surprised at the lack of responses here.

I dispute that you will never get a refund for a few days late as sender? I am getting refunds as a receiver for EP one day late!

More soon, maybe.

First world problems, WW3 about to kick off but let’s worry about a late parcel!
You have too much time on your hands.
Is it really that much of an issue that a parcel arrives one or two days late that you have to put in a claim?
Maybe it’s people like yourself to blame for AP price increases.
I’ve seen it all now.

No doubt,whenever you purchase a product or service and it does not match the description of that which you ordered, you simply accept being ripped off.

Whenever I buy a product or service I expect that it performs to the asserted / claimed levels. If it does not meet the claimed expectations I will always ask - why not?

Different strokes for different folks.
You may accept a lower standard of expectations. I simply ask that the claims made, be honored.

Simple, uncomplicated stuff.

I started this thread to let SSers here know that they can be reimbursed for poor AusPost perfomance as the addressee.

Only trying help this community.

Did not expect messenger to be made the bad guy.

If you do not wish to be reimbursed, do not claim. Simple stuff.

I do not concern myself with WW3 and I do not believe that claiming an advertised option ads to AusPost price increases.
It's all factored in to the price structure.

Some final words from Prince:

I am just grateful that in my years of stacking I have received every single parcel.
We are lucky in Australia to have a pretty reliable postal service.

I recently got a refund for an express post being 2 days late. I called and they sent me a web link to enter my bank details for the refund.
 
Before covid it was a guaranteed to be next day delivery for express post within the network. I as the sender claimed it a few times over the years. During Covid they suspended it and I don't think it is guaranteed anymore, even now. But yeah, if it takes a week when it should be 1 day, yes I would claim it if it was still happening. I had a registered post bounce backwards and forwards for 3 weeks within NSW once, I rang up and complained and they even refunded the postage on that one even though it was not guaranteed. I too have always received all my parcels eventually and still reckon Aust Post is pretty good.
 
As to refunds on postal services i didnt even realise that was a thing until 30 seconds ago but have no opinion on the matter.
If i had to rate Postal services by country and delivery satisfaction then this.
1.Australia Post Express service Domestic
2.USPS International Express/Priority
3.FedEx international Express/Priority
4.UK international
5.Canadian Postal service(Whilst items arrive,the word Express must get lost in translation)
The below Prefix letter M means million just to clarify)

6M.Austrian Postal service
7M.Most other European countries postal services infiltrated by criminal networks.

The next day guarantee is in force. So far i
have received 3 refunds as addressee without receipts. Still waiting on two claims. Would i do it again? Probably not.
