I suspect that many ASEs have been artificially toned..I have a couple of very suss toners in my collection. They have been exhibited here ..finde'm for yourself The intriguing thing about toning,sometimes, is trying to spot the dogs from the cats :) Either way.toning just makes some coins...

I am a fan of these types of medals...especially from France. Have a few myself. Even though this one is not silver, the design and depth of the casting is very interesting. Good on you o-to for using the " French Connection" to find the answer :)

I found this just a little while ago. 1786 Proclamation coin. The seller has 3 more proclamation coins listed .The photos are terrible..which prompted me to ask the seller if they were genuine. His quick reply was to ask me not to bid on them ,if unsure...which I will certainly do :) However...
