The Royal Mint is weird. When I tell the site I am from Australia the price for each goes down to 329 Pounds. Anyone else?
Nothing weird about it. VAT is taken off for sales outside EU. But the customs at the destination country will add their own applicable charges at delivery.
We may not all think the UK is an awesome place to live but on the other hand while it doesn't happen that often here in the forum, it does look like there's consensus on this year's proof Britannica....it's a winner. .
Clearly not patriotic then!!! Whilst the UK may have it's faults, I still believe it's a great place to live. I'm proud to be British.
Can't say i'm proud to be British but i'll happily stick with English This coin really is a looker... I shall get my hands on one before too long!
Yeah, we do it slightly different over here. They have only taken paid for pre-orders, we don't even know if we have beat the rest of the queue yet. I also know that shipping dates were delayed a few times last year, so estimated is about right.
The Britannia 2014 One Ounce Silver Proof Coin Estimated shipping from 04/08/2014 The Britannia 2014 Five Ounce Silver Proof Coin Estimated shipping from 23/07/2014 I read this as the 5oz available on July 23rd and 1oz available on August 4th. In the US we read as Month / Day / Year Most other countries seem to read as Day / Month / Year
Hence we look at 9/11 as being the name of the event rather than the date of the event because as far as we are concerned it took place on 11/9. which is why I prefer 11 Sept or Sept 11th. You would think that websites who deal with international trade would be fully aware of this and would take the necessary steps to avoid any ambiguity.
Has anyone ever purchased Royal Mint silver proof coins before? If yes, what is the quality of their proof coins? I'm assuming the quality is superb but as I have never seen a proof RM silver coin in person, I am curious to know from those who have. The excellent design of this Britannia has me strongly considering buying from the RM....something I have never done before. Thanks. .
Haha, I'm just browsing this thread today, and when Royal Mint sent the email blast out about the new britannia design, I *immediately* had the exact same thoughts as you about them using Pippa as the model, you can see it pretty clearly in this picture particularly: Source: freenewfashiondesign
I've ordered 3 1oz proof last year and two of them have some dust inside the capsules Debating to pick some up this year or not... My money are stuck with the duckling
