Anybody else getting the impression that this is Geiger's work?

You know, who also does the Armenia Noah's Ark..?

The coin in the pic looks very nice. I also hope to see the BU version soon too.

The one thing in not liking is that the shipping date keeps getting pushed back. Originally it was the end of December. Now on the current ebay listing with the picture of the coin it is the middle of February.... :(

From what I recall, it's always been late December to mid-January.

Anybody know of any German mints who do these things?

    There is:

    - B.H. Mayer, who does the Rwanda ... I'm just not seeing any similarities

    - Bavarian State Mint, who does the Somalia ... I see a little more resemblence in design/font/minting, anyway

    - Geiger, who does the Armenia Noah's Ark ... Not only do I see similarities in the above, but of these 3, Geiger can have those little spots & such.. Furthermore, the obverse of both these coins look fairly similiar in design & font. Then again, I'm also not seeing "LEV" on the Ghana.

Unfortunately, of those 3 above, I'm probably the least impressed with Geiger, at least in terms of overall quality when it comes to small minted/pressed pieces.

Are there other possibilities? As stated earlier in this thread, somebody here contacted FCC(?) or one of the dealers, and was told that these are being produced by a German mint.

    Cool picture of the coin.

I like dots on coins. I like skulls. I have enough of "classical happy animals coins"...
I'm only a little bit sorry I didn't buy more....

Going by the photos, the coin looks stunning. Now lets just hope it comes in equally stunning and attractive packaging. BTW, the sample coins do not bear the COA number. I wanted where that will be engraved.

I would imagine that we are seeing both BU and proof versions in this photo:

I queried that question to son-montuno ~ 4weeks ago , and he replied that they were aiming for the coin number to be engraved on the rim on the right side, but that wasn't etched in silver.

    Cheers,
    Luker

I'd bet that individualized serial numbers on a coin's edge is quite an expensive process. Anyone here know just how much effort and additional labor would go into such a process?

I'm thinking that's a 2nd proof, which is angled differently & reflecting something else.

You'll see in the photo right after that, that there looks to be 2 proofs.
