The Big Everything Bubble - Where to now

Well at least people get that concept.

The banks create money by making deposits and government creates money when the RBA funds deficit spending.

You need to replace the word money with currency in your statement.

Fiat currency is not money because it lacks one critical fundamental property of money....the ability to hold value over long periods of time.

I'm happy to call it anything, it's just a unit of account after all. Hence why I'm in the camp that argues currency or money should not maintain its purchasing power.

Where to? For us poorer simple folk who cant afford real estate...i personally enjoy it cos it gives me more to complain about amongst the pile of shit our countries declining into ;):p Along with personal preference for gold with a slice of silver i'm doing what 10 outta 10 personal finance gurus/experts,fund managers and 100% proven data indicates not to do :D looking at individual stocks within the sectors weighing them for undervalued gems...and throwing darts-wherever they land i buy! It beats lotto or pokies anyday :)

LOL that's how I feel about shares.

But at least you got metal, even if all your shares go to shit you will still do reasonably well.

I think you're doing the right thing accumulating quantities of assets in your budget range. I was going to say"affordable" but that's subjective and even some may argue that gold, or silver or CommBank shares are unaffordable at their current market value.

RE is an emotional investment that is most suited to a "team" approach ie long term partners committing the majority of their adult life to acquiring and paying for it.

This doesn't suit everyone and must be particularly devastating for those that desire it but aren't in the income or relationship demographic to afford it.

My only "investments" in my younger years were big bags of weed and partying mostly...and unfortunately none of these pay dividends :oops:;) a fool n he's money part easily they say:) metals especially gold are what i look to acquire now and some shares i've jumped in and out abit and speculated theres fiat to be made for sure. As long as were buying assets and things that have value not holding currency unless to convert when market crash then were all ahead imo. Never been to ambitious even without the greenery but its all learning and i appreciate the economic side and finding others especially stackers who are smarter n switched on then me but share similiar mentalities. Better late then never ;) reits my only option this late in game but most of my lil fiat pile goes to the sweet shiny stuff, gold is good
