Is it just me or does this "new user" Skull have a very similar writing style to that JohnGalt retard who got banned a bit ago ?
The arguments are certainly the same.

Yeh I kinda got the same vibe, the arguments are the same but @SKULL seems to have more brain cells than that one. And he hasn't used any OVERSIZED WILD FONT as of yet.

And then there was that other dude that goldpelican tossed out, I can't remember his name. The one that called me a cnut and said my penis was very small. Which is pretty accurate though mind you. :D

Ok, now I get that ur an investor in BTC. Investment I understand :)

I posted the " Unit of Account Problem " only because I found the article of interest in the points raised.

I don't invest in BTC because of the fluctuations in price. I'm 63 yrs, so close to retirement. I don't have the time to recover a large drawdown in my capital. I've seen 17% interest on my 1'st house mortgage. Lining up for ur turn to buy fuel. Crash of 1987. DOT.COM bust & the GFC, so I would just like to have a modest survival ;)

I have done well with my Gold/Silver. Much more than double my initial investment in a bit over 5 yrs. I'm ok with that.

I have nothing against BTC/Crypto ( but some push it a bit hard ). Honestly, I hope u do real well & use that to prosper for urself & ur Family :D

I'm totally no ok with getting into personal insults ( childish school yard tactics )

I can assure u, I'm a new user.

I don't do any social media stuff. So this forum is a recent step into the online world, so maybe I'm a bit " Old " & not so adjusted to the nuances of the online world.

LOL, if u think " wanker " is a personal insult, u should get out more & find out what " real " people think about u.

From what I'm seeing/hearing Stablecoins maybe the next evolution of Crypto. Lot of chatter about Stablecoins backed by USA Treasuries as a way for the Gov to create a synthetic market for Treasuries ( short term treasuries/Debt ) Seems they see it as a way to push Debt ( treasuries ) onto the market. If they regulate ( manipulate ) the market into making the standard to be Stablecoins backed by treasuries.
o_O

Others here such as @Brendio your mate @Stoic Phoenix or @dozerz could probably offer greater clarity on the topic or not.
Edit to add: and Graeber would argue that even when nations operated under commodity currencies such as gold standards they were mainly used as units of account (like our metric system) as opposed to any actual exchange with debts being settled in the sale of goods to the creditor as opposed to handing over a helmet full of sestertii (except for soldiers and other state sponsored thugs who nobody trusted).

Fiat-backed coins are an interesting one (not really stable over the long term due to money printing). They have evolved beyond their initial use case of transferring value between shitcoin casinos, and have seen reasonable adoption in South America and other places where USD is far preferable to the local currency. From a US government perspective, their increased adoption increases demand for treasuries. An interesting side effect, is stablecoin issues are (assuming they are true to label) full reserve banks, which could put some constraint on money supply.

The regulations risk killing the golden goose though, in that they are not decentralised cryptocurrencies at all; they could just as easily be run on an SQL database. Their appeal has come from the laxer regulations around issuance and availability to the unbanked. Take that away and you get closer to de facto CBDC territory.

Hahaha I get out plenty mate don’t you worry about that . I own a tourist park since 99 and a few years ago I bought the local pub and interact with 100’s of people every week and frankly I would rather not interact with so many people lol

And it’s funny how you get your knickers in a not every time I post something.

You need a hug mate?

I couldnt imagine having to deal with 100s of people a week.
Sounds horrendous!

I thought this an interesting read because Crypto Currencies/CBDC/Stablecoins will play a major role in the Technocracy he's describing :(

 Digital Currencies as part of a Comprehensive System

EDIT ADDED:- As financial analyst and freedom fighter Catherine Austin Fitts has long warned, wearables represent one component of what she calls 'the control grid' - a comprehensive system integrating health surveillance with digital currencies and social credit scoring. The goal isn't health optimization but economic control: making your access to resources conditional on biometric compliance. Her Solari Report provides perhaps the most essential analysis for understanding these converging systems - aside from reading the World Economic Forum's materials directly.
