You just can't help some people! - UPDATE!!!!!

I daresay the teen and dad have a normal relationship where teenagers do stupid things to spite parents (or despite parents) who won't buy them a new car etc etc.... probably neither of them see it as stealing since it is ''family'' stuff.

The fact that the father knows about it means either - he is an SS member and/or teen went back and said 'haha - sold your stupid coins for $20' upon which father said - 'you idiot they are worth heaps more', teen responds ''man at shop wouldn't give me more'' upon which father and son proceed to the store..... Or, he proudly announced - found some old coins in a drawer and sold for $20....

All those saying that he is stupid for not educating the teen may not realise there a 100 threads on here about how hard it is to explain the value of these things to people. And, parents are entitled to some privacy - if that means he kept his coin collection in a draw and forgot about till teen ''sold it'' so be it.

Anyway whatever happened the story is coins were sold and bought back, lesson learnt (hopefully) - all else about the family is speculation.

^ the smartest move in all of this was Malachii for videotaping it.

Imagine how different it would have been if the Dad believed the kids BS

It amazes me that people call for publishing of this.

What do people who value their privacy think?

Or is that just your own privacy you value, everyone else is fair game?

I totally agree with you EM , but you have to admit , or at least I will admit I got a great laugh out of all of this, I think others might agree... Great story, with a live follow up conclusion
Reality at its best! Hats off to Malachii!
I would not post the video either , but definatly keep it for future entertainment..

No problem with Malaachi or the thread material. A funny everyday story that was ok to share here IMO minus identifying details.

A bit of a good lesson learned for the Kid and maybe his Father too.

No need for potentially identifying video to be posted is my only beef.

I would have had it on youtube in a flash and give the whole world a good laugh. If you do stupid things people will laugh at you, that's just the way it is.
I do understand why Malachii has not posted it, close community and all

Naaah he wont post it.. Just a good laugh soon to be buried in the depths of time. There are many lessons here , the father, son , you , me??

I hope you can avoid picking your nose or scratching your parts while in view of a camera ..you could be the next youtube cheap laugh. :)

Malachii's experience has been instructive and a little entertaining ,but this kind of thing becomes fodder for fools........

Just sayin'

where is the other part of the story?

sold the coins for $20 plastic, now given $20 plastic to buy them back...must pay full market price for them.

what about the penalty that he has to pay his dad for stealing his coin? should be double that amount.

can he get a job to polish the coins  to pay dad?

howd the conversation go?
was the dad all like "you ripped off my son, you gave him 20 bucks for these coins and theyre worth 10x that!"
and then you were like "watch this please sir"

hahahaha.

There's plenty there of me stuffing up. I have no problem laughing at my own failures, matter of having to cause I'm bloody fast to laugh at others.
