You just can't help some people! - UPDATE!!!!!

You do mellow out as you age, if I only knew then what I know now, I'm sure I'll be saying the same in 10, 30, 50 and 70? years from now :)

Be careful about putting the footage on the net. I know people who've been sued for less than that.
if the camera was on in your shop, and in full view. i don't see how you could possibly get sued. if you were making money off publishing in it maybe...
but then again, I'm not a lawyer... so what the hell do i know :P

Easily, they could argue they reasonably expected privacy in the shop. It was a private conversation. There was no expectation that surveillance video would be published to the internet. The boy's reputation was harmed as a result. The boy's prospects of gaining employment were harmed ... etc. A good lawyer could twist this six ways from Sunday.

your video you can do with it as you please. I would hate to think I could be sued for all the vids I have down loaded between facebook and youtube.
Love to see both vids and have a good laugh, some people deserve to be hung out and dried. If I had of been there I would have filmed it for sure and posted it somewhere.

I think if you walk in to a shop, especially one that deals in collector coins and bullion you can expect to be filmed. heck, when i walk in to my local milk bar that deals in bread, milk, newspapers and lollies I lose any expectation of privacy... of cause there will be security cameras, of cause you will get filmed.. and that recording will belong 100% to the owner of the shop to do with as they please.
it's up to the individual walking into said shop to make a judgement call as to if they want to act like a total dick or not :D
but that is just what i think...

Yeah good idea! Please please please just share the audio (if there is audio) with us.

It would be hands down the best thing ever posted here :)

- EDIT

The video would be even better. :)

Just had a quick word to my solicitor (was seeing him about something else and I slid this into the conversation) - he advised me not to do it - just in case.

So sorry - but not on a public forum (but the Melbourne Christmas party might be different.......... :) - Nah)

You have to remember I live in a regional town. Even if it's legally OK it might not be the smartest move.

In my opinion the fathers an idiot for stacking silver without passing in the knowledge to his adult son.

the father shoukd explain the true value of pms if he knows of it himself. So funny to see the kid get taught a lesson though. So if I understand this right u bought that metal for 20 bucks and then sold it back to the same guy for over 10 x as much? Brilliant. Cant argue with margins like that! ;)

That's hilarious, damn good lesson for the rude n arrogant son, hope he learns from it. Btw what's the market value for a 1/2 oz mouse?

If I was a customer of your shop and you posted that video I would never set foot in your shop again

I mean this is not someone upset over buying an ice cream
Making public the face of a PM owner is just irresponsible and I can't believe the people calling for it to be posted
What if the guy then gets burgled because the local crim saw the video and recognised him ?

Very true, but what is wrong with blurring out faces and distorting voices a bit
