Why is this site so "Australia" heavy?

i KNOW im missing something but i just wanted to know why 85% of people (totally made that figure up, 70% of statistics are made up on the spot, only 45% of people know that) on this site are Australian? This site is based in Australian but why should that matter. there is no ". au" it seems like a very popular stacker site. its open to everyone, why didnt this kick off in the US/Canada ..ect? Looking at the "buy/sell/trade" other country forums compared to ours always makes me wonder this..
 
About 70% Australian.

When it started it was almost 100% - just a result of it starting here.
 
Probably because the forums.silverstackers.com domain is hosted in a Melbourne datacentre. In my experience physical server location does make a difference with Google rankings.

Haven't the Australians here explained it's because Australia is the centre of the world. First there's Australia, then a bunch of water in all directions and then various places where other people live. Everywhere else is 24 hours in any direction really.

....and I've even heard that people in countries outside Australia open their hardboiled eggs... from the big-end!!! :o

You would be surprised at the amount of overseas members who participate in this forum :)
 
I like the diversity of the international members. It's good to pick the brains of people from places such as Greece, Portugal, Slovenia, Tasmania, Poland, US etc who can give us more insight on what's happening in these places that you get from online news resources and obviously also have an interest in stacking or other forms of wealth creation/preservation.

It would be interesting to know just how many countries are represented on SS
