It makes me laugh. People are dropping the prices of their dragons in for sale threads.
I laugh because the price they advertised to begin with has absolutely no relationship with spot, so why bother dropping it from some arbitrary number to some slightly less but still way over spot arbitrary number?
I'm not having a go at anyone here. In fact, if this was open mic night at the local comedy club, I'd buy tickets.

True but the ability to walk into a place and get your hands on stuff immediately would be awesome. The rest of us have to wait around for weeks and get charged insane shipping costs.
Mind you they do have very high prices. The cost of buying from a reseller, plus shipping, is STILL often less than the PM price ~without~ shipping...

Spot dropped 20% yesterday but 1 oz Dragons maintained their inflated price in Euroland.
To add fuel to the fire I had bought a 10oz / 12 hours before the crash and was cursing that I had mistimed that purchase.
Spot plummeted 20% but the 10 ouncer actually went up in price.
It's a mad mad world !!

Monday morning at the perth Mint , for me .
For me it was friday (yesterday). But then again, I'd pre-ordered back in July and paid just under $40 each (got a roll of 20). Still, whether I sell them at $60, $80 or $100, I'll be selling for more than I bought. I only bought on a whim as I don't have any specific interest in Lunars. Generally I buy bullion coins of varying designs simply for interest.
To be honest, the spot price of silver has no bearing to me on the price I end up trying to sell these dragons for. While technicly a bullion coin, they are being treated as a numismatic coin by most (if not all) who are trying to souce them. Accordingly, the prices are therefore set by that standard. All about supply and demand, and at the moment the demand is still very good.
Current sale prices on ebay attest to this.

I've seen a few people write this and I just don't understand why. I bought as many as I could, sold them and now have twice as many oz's to show for it. Not buying something simply because it is "hyped" or there is "mania" doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. Profit is profit whether it be a 10oz bar bought for $400 and sold for $440 or 20 dragons bout for $980 and sold for $1900. Out of those two options I know which I'd choose every time.

If some-one in the Sahara desert is prepared to pay $10 for an icecube when an eskimo can get it for nothing, I wouldn't think it stupid for the eskimo to work out a way of towing an iceberg to Africa.
And good luck to the Eskimo for living in Eskimo land where Ice is both cheaper and more abundant than it is is Africa.Supply and demand. Its as simple as that and I don't think "stupidity" has anything to do with it. Seems a bit of a harsh assessment of both sellers and buyers of these coins imo.
