Weather

i just went up to the hills to check the river again, hasnt moved since this morning. my parents talked to some people that live right up the top at the servo and they said theyd only gotten 5 inches. not much water laying around in paddocks yet. all this can change pretty quick though if it really starts to rain though.
heres hoping that it wont flood or if it does then it wont be too major.

Been raining constantly for 2 days up in Toowoomba, there's a few roads closed due to east creek flooding and lots of trees down, apparently worst is still to come. At this rate I may not get back to Brisbane for work on Tuesday :/

I have spent all day:
* Pumping water out from underneath the house
* Keeping the drains unclogged

It's wet outside :/

We have had strong wind up in Toowoomba and lots of rain

latest report from Bundaberg..Power just restored after 12 hr outage. Burnett river is already at 2011 level of 7.5m and is predicted to go to 8m overnight and then to challenge the previous record height at 8.59m during Monday with further rises expected during Tuesday. (The record was in 1942)

Have no damage at my place and the blue sky is back..Will probably be cut off from Bundaberg CBD for three or four days.

No problems food wise,,Went shopping last Thursday so all is well in that regards. Also always have back up supplies.

No internet..Had withdrawal symptons. :(

Glad to hear that SEQ escaped the full force of Oswald.

Lesson to be learned from this flood in Bundaberg.. Records are there to be broken!.

Regards Errol 43

Good to see you back on board errol, we've had patches of blue sky and another 4 inches or so since the deluge, I expect you'll experience likewise before it dries out. Humidity is lovely at the moment too, has been hovering in the 90's, westerlies have dried it out a bit but you wouldn't know if you're out of the breeze. Guess the tomato farms will cop it again down your way?

correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a waterspout rather than a tornado?
Tornadic waterspouts are tornadoes that form over water, or move from land to water. They have the same characteristics as a land tornado. They are associated with severe thunderstorms, and are often accompanied by high winds and seas, large hail, and frequent dangerous lightning.

Sauce: What is a waterspout?

rain radar makes it look like it might be slowly heading out to see more so than moving south. also seems to have eased up a bit by the looks of it around coffs on the radar, its still raining here but its not bucketing down atm luckily. heres hoping it stays that way through the night and hopefully we avoid a flood.

Peace at last. It's leaving behind the Mooloolaba area of the Sunshine Coast and looks to be shriveling a bit like Daryl Van Horne in the last part of Witches of Eastwick. All we're left with is a filthy polluted pool (again) that noone except eastern water dragons swim in, and will take $150 of chemicals and hrs of labour to put right.

You could make a big aquaculture pond with fish, water greens, no chemicals, once you did the work there would be no more labour and you could swim in it :o !
