I am sorry to say this but anyone who is prepared to pay more for the 1oz Dragon than a 2oz Dragon has soup for brains.
99% of you guys won't be starting a lunar set so why don't you just get twice the silver for the same price or less; I am sure in the long run a 2oz Dragon will give you a better return.
1oz Dragon at present has $40 of silver and $50-$60 worth of collector's premium
2oz Dragon at present has $80 of silver and $15 worth of collector's premium
When spot doubles, a 1oz Dragon will have $80 of silver and maybe up to $80 in its collector's premium. Whereas the 2oz Dragon will have $160 worth of silver as well as a collector's premium which will definitely be higher than $15

makes a lot of sense !!
Stacking makes sense, collecting? not so much! I don't need to have logic and net bottom lines rule every last iota of my life. There's a little room for passion and fun, which always costs a little extra

how much is a fair price for a 1 oz dragon proof on the secondary market?

I have the option to get some at issue price but I don't want them if they will go down in price after the hype is gone like many of the perth mint 1 oz proofs.

the demand was 10 x, so very unlikely to drop below 40, since no more will be produced once the quota is reached. (commenting on BU)

oops missed out the word proof.....

what about the proofs?
I'm no expert by any means, but I'm gonna say the proofs will continue to appreciate. I myself, a man of modest means tries to get RAM Roo proofs for decent prices, though I'm halfway to a complete collection, half are UNC and other half proofs. There are a lot of people who collect only proofs, myself if finances allowed it. The Lunar IIs particularly the dragon and tiger proofs will do well and won't be as affected by spot prices as most. Just an opinion...and I DO know how much they're worth LOL

I wonder what is going to happen with the dragon prices now that silver is heading back to $20/oz.
Anyone want to sell me some for $40 while you still get something for them?

But seriously would you ever sell them for under Perth Mint issue price of ~$50 if silver goes down the drain?

There was an auction here that sold 5 dragons for $65 each. I think it will settle down to $60 or so?

Sure but that auction's duration was such that most only noticed it once it had finished. In order to guage the real value youd need to give an auction a week to allow for all potential interest bidders to have knowledge that the auction was in fact taking place, esp in the SS buy/sell/trade as our forum is limited to the number users - when you do a 24 hour auction or less its possible the auction can go under the radar which is what i believe has essentially happend with your $65 each auction.

Nah, similar story to here. 4 went for $65 but they were all listed yesterday on 24hr auctions by the same seller.

Next lot are at $85.
