Bout time I let you duffouses(sp?) in on the action.

I now estimate one month from this time stamp before President Rolex bracelets showing correction.

Gave LadyBum heads up many months ago.

I had my taste and refuse to spend more on crap. I got bigger diesel plans. Now you pidgins can have a turn.

Get in quick before the others beat you to it, such as them pesky kitcokat members.

You buy solid gold rolex just over spot, and you get the brand name free. Think and use your head.

Tips:
- Avoid women watches! Even if you are a female. Trust me.
- Avoid fancy bezel dials. That means no diamonds and shyt.
- Avoid tifanny rebadge crap!
- Avoid stainless steel faces. If you can't afford solid gold bracelet get a stainless steel, but never the bezel face in SS.
- Avoid dodgy sellers (Duh).
- Avoid two tone rolexs. Never get stainless steel and gold. I don't care if you like it.
- Avoid white gold rolex! Only get yellow gold.

- Best is 18kt gold (nothing more or less).
- Platinum doesn't really hold good value, but you will not lose out.
- All oysters are safe.
- Buy only men rolex.
- It's okay to buy 'parts' that are not functional. The crown is best.
- Don't fret over what type of glass. Whether sapphire or quartz it really doesn't matter as much as the gold.
- Rolex with leather band is okay, just don't pay premium for the leather. You can always get a gold bracelet later.

History shows this should not be the case. Rolex has normally adjusted with inflation since people went there for a safety haven. However, in modern times the mass have forgotten about the rolex security. Give it time (pun unintended) and they will hop on.

Rolex is well under value.

During all previous economical bad times (pre-1980) rolex traded/sold for premiums. Now those premiums are non existent.
 
I don't know a lot about holding Rolex as investments however I would like to learn more.
Where can I source these undervalued watches?
What's a fair price and how would I know it's genuine and not a fake?

Don't touch Rolex's if you don't know them ,I wouldn't be following any of his advise that has been given here,just from I do know his details on what to buy & avoid is all wrong .
I defiantly would not put $ into a Rolex V Bullion scenario .
There's no such thing as a Cheap Rolex ,if it's cheap it's probably a fake .
 
If you do want to park $ in good watches , Rolex is the bottom of the barrel.
At the same time if you want a Rolex that is worth buying $10k & up .
Try IWC & such other less known brand , Le Philip ( or something like that )

What is good buying Swiss no name gold watches 50-60's , most go for gold price only
And are easy to sell

I picked this beautiful 14kt German pocket watch for around spot.
Chain and case 14k fine gold
Total weight of the pocket watch a fraction over 52 grams
Paid spot price for 40 grams of 14k gold to save it from the melt.

I would also go pocket watch too, but I prefer instant appeal to a greater audience, plus I try and buy what also appeals to me (incl. being practical). Personal choice.

Out of all the wristwatch makers I like the Rados (ceramic bracelets), if only they had the same appeal as Rolexs.

Ebay USA for cheaper price. Buy from sellers with 10,000 feedback and have proven track record of watch selling on Ebay. More than a few years membership.

I've seen Rolex President & bracelets go for under $6000 plenty of times, you won't get a Chrono for that, only Oysters and Day Date.

But, to be safe you want to buy locally and get the seller to accompany you to an Authorized Rolex dealer to certify authenticity (i.e. if genuine).

If the seller is selling a legit Rolex (or any manufacturer) then they would have no issues proving authenticity!

The weight of the watch minus the non gold parts i.e. Movement etc for a 18k Mens Rolex President, adjusted for purity is a shade under 80grams of 999.

80grams is slightly less than 2.6 troy oz. About $4k of gold value. Which means you pay 2k for the name. I guess this is a good deal if you like your rolex watches.
If it doesn't come with the gold bracelet you can adjust the 999 gold content down another 51grams.

I am not that familiar with other rolexes but are there others with more gold content?
 
Submariners and Daytonas are the most popular mens Rolex (i.e. appeal by the masses). Day Date is best bang for buck.
 
My mother gave me a Cartier (Santos) watch when I was 19 yo and I still have it .My wife was also given a Cartier (Tank) watch as a work bonus many years back.

The Cartier watch is special.
