Stamp Collection - How much worth?

I got about 60% of face value when I sold one with the books
probably less hassle just selling the stamps at 60% of face value

Sold them on feebay for 1k minus fees![/quote]
What was the face value ?
I have a mate with over

$50K worth of face value with receipts from the 70's & 80's
He can't deal with parting with them

Every places i go, i buy some souvenir sheets, plates of stamps and first day cover. I also collect all issues of stamps in our country. Thinking now and then, is there any promising returns on those mint stamp i kept. Used stamps is not my liking but i have some of old local stamps since i was 13. I prefer collecting mint issue. I am not planning to sell any of those but probably my grand children will inherit them.

Don't listen to anyone telling you not to collect stamps!

Especially if you love this hobby and if you're not collecting in order to sell later.

Stamps are already becoming RARE. I reckon, they will disappear together (or before) cash.
I've seen a lot of envelopes without stamps, just with mere stickers and bar codes on them. Stamps are rare relics and you should hold on to them.

Yes, if you want to leave a nice inheritance, then stamp collections are great!

Have fun and keep in mind that one day they will be VERY RARE and EXPENSIVE!

Wrong. They're works of art. They're in a way like old magazines or posters. No, not fiat, because they're more scarce.

Unfortunately, collectors are scarce as well!
