That's entirely dependent on each individual website. All sites will run differently based on a multitude of different factors. Some will be on servers which can handle a lot of traffic very well, others will not. Some will have good measures put in to handle their stock quantities effectively, others wont.Lightsview said:Moral of the story, forget about placing orders via Internet... The system is just too screwed! Phone orders are the way to go!
philmart said:Why not, for fairness, simply stop a user from ordering more than their own limit AT THE TIME of placing the order. Surely the technology is there..

I dont think it is to hard to allow you to press submit to the checkout and they hold it for 5 minutes until you finish your order if not the database gets updated with an extra one in the system, instead of telling you this at the end of your order process.
I have programmed websites since 1999 up until a year or so ago, i cant see why this keeps happening, but i have not looked after bigger websites, no more than a few thousand hits/minute, but i do know how to interact with MYSQL and PHP/CGI etc. does not seem it has to be this hard.
I went through the process only to be told 20 minutes later there was no 3 coin set, i could have maybe still got the 10z but i want free delivery.

Sounds like Perth's site really doesn't handle these type of issues very well, though. Probably running on an outdated system or something.
Jislizard said:It shouldn't be that outdated, it was upgraded after the Dragon Launch fiasco only a year ago.
It is a lot better than last year, well, the bullion website is, I haven't tried the shop website.

I think they may have changed the release time to standardize it internationally for web orders , but It defiantly screws over many of the Aussie Customers.Lightsview said:Jcoin said:That's entirely dependent on each individual website. To be honest nothing much has changed despite all the fiasco that happened last year with the dragon proof coins. Sadly. Only difference is that they changed the times of the start of sales from 9am Perth time to 1201am Perth time, which IMHO has screwed all Aussie buyers!
