SBSS series suspended.

Was just thinking today I won't be buying anymore of this series. Too many and too fast. Haven't made my mind up yet though.

If quality is crap then this is bullsh!T  They shouldn't be sending them out in the first place.

Wicked designs but the quality i wont keep quiet about! I have to send these out to customers as does Maggie and Bullionbourse. It is a minting problem they need to address.
We have a lot of metal pass thru here and I have never seen rounds this rough.
I will still maintain having full sets of the first series will see a decent return, even with the rough mint job.
Will have some with me on Sunday at the ss meet so you can all take a look.

Absolutely agree! The freedom girl is a stunning coin, but very low quality, but yeah I'd probably get the rest of them

It was a minting problem weeks/months ago, now it's an ethical, greed and hypocrisy issue or of course plain old stupidity. Basically the message they spew forth is negated by the product produced, snake oil anyone??

Why would you send them out knowing their crap & they will only be returned for a credit or replacement. Along the way burning customers & incurring additional postage costs, simply makes no sense to me.

We have no choice but to send them out unless the supplier will credit us.If it was perthmint or pamp it wouldnt be a problem as we could just swap it over, by the time this sbss stuff gets to us its too late to replace them. Not all rounds are bad, just the general minting quality is low.
We did stop taking orders for freedomgirl and pulled the public sales of sbss products, no product - no complaints!
We pulled out the worst we could find, will flog em cheap.

I think their stop work meeting is about quality above all else, maybe they will improve. We are only bringing in a few tubes of the rest of the series for a few members, we bought in the first lot we will see it thru till the end.
At least one good thing has come out of it, it prompted us to do our own!!

I have a tube of Triviums in the process of being replaced at the moment, they were all crap. The mint after seeing photo's agreed they should have never left the mint & have been very helpful & open about the problems & what they are doing to fix the situation.

If I pay a premium on any item that's exactly what I expect to receive, nothing more & nothing less & I don't see that being unreasonable to any fair minded person.

If I paid an appropriate price & had the foreknowledge that the item was subpar then that's my problem / choice but to have junk arrive after payment has been accepted is a whole other story & not acceptable.

The dealers can either refund or replace what they do with them after that is their business, if they can sell them off cheap & recoupe any losses that the mint wont caver even better.

I bought some slave queens recently and one of the slave queens is already showing tarnish, I could barely believe my eyes. Im not really worried about the tarnish to be honest however recieving a coin, freshly minted, being the apparent first owner and its already tarnished...that surprised me.

id say thats why they are issuing proofs. Because the BU's are so shite they have to have something better at a higher price to justify the shitty quality. The proofs actually resemble a BU perth mint coin.

Burp

Well we can replace the latest 2 coins but not trivium, seems sbss is going to have a heap come back.
If we had the knowledge that they were sub par, we would not have bought them in, only after taking delivery of them can we see the quality.
We canceled purchasing the new Brittania as we got forewarning about quality issues, we would have done the same with sbss had we known.
Expecting them to move forward with quality, not backwards as has been demonstrated.
Yep we will flog the dirtys cheap and buy REAL silver from perthmint.

I hope Dwayne doesn't revert back to his 'used car salesman from Jersey demeanor' now that he's getting cornered.

That 'Royal Silver" CEO did enough damage to the image of small producers already without Chris doing the same.

The 2nd attempt Britannias look like Perth Mint in comparison to these.

If anyone has a beaten up Slave Queen they want to sell cheap, I'd be interested in buying it as just want to keep it in my pocket as a discussion item. PM me

Keep stackin'

This is BS, the poor quality was most likely a result of poor quality silver (bottom of the barrell stuff), proof silver supplies were running low so no surprise now they have suspended as silver is obviously in massive shortage, just don't understand why these guys are covering it up for the Gman. :)

Bron, they have shut down the whole operation to " Catch up ", obviously not sitting with you as your BS detector seems to be going off as well.
Bottom of the barrel stuff indeed. Would like to see it improved when they continue.

Silver shortage ? not that old chestnut ....I hope its true this time .I can feel aa massive beat up on the silver bull sites coming on :p:

Bron can you explain "bottom of the barrel" silver my understanding was 999+ was all the same & "proof silver" ? whats the difference

This reminds me of Keiser Silver.. i waited 6 months before reversing the credit card transaction... these small time dealers take your money and you wait in purgatory to either recieve your metal, or not.. you do get the feeling its a cowboy operation with inadequate capitol to float.. smells like a ponzi silver scheme..

Im glad i got the freedom girl and slave queen.. i think the design and strike is awesome.. almost proof like and a nice high relief, but the quality control is disgraceful.. each round is nicked, tarnished and generally would be lucky to pull an ms-61 if US graded.

still though makes for a change and at the price level still worth getting..

I have to admit though some of the worst quality NEW silver i have ever seen

1for1
