just the price that is off putting

eh?

Spot + $2.99 is right inline with most large volume bullion issues at least in the USA.

and these have a much better speculative upside than standard mint to demand world bullion.

oh man im going to try get all 30 and i havent got one in my hands yet.... but i should be gettin a couple trivium in the mail today and trying to line up a purchase of the debt and death

One sold yesterday on eBay for $110 AU :/

yes,one was sold for that much..good for the seller...but dont be like one of my friend-he saw a 1oz scottsdale was sold around $45 on ebay(was around $32 at BB) and he bought 1000 :/

So according to the SBSS website ( http://silverbulletsilvershield.com/freedom-girl/ ) the mintage of the 5oz Silver Proof-like Freedom Girl is only 1000 (CLICK on "Jumbo"). I am assuming that is 1000 for each of the variations ( Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof-Like, Copper, paraDIME). Can anyone confirm or deny? I would be very happy if the mintage remains at 1000.

Cheers,
Luker

Came across this today. I don't get something: wasn't Freedom Girl a design 'owned' by Chris Duane?
I've seen it for sale (including 5 oz version) under "SilverShield" from Chris Duane.
And it wasn't for sale under "SilverBulletSilverShield" from Rob Gray.
Until recently: http://x.opencurrency.com/silver/fi...4-sbss-arise-freedom-girl-proof-numbered.html
So the situation has like reversed, Chris Duane doesn't sell the design anymore, Gray does instead.
And look on:
http://sdbullion.com/silver/sbss-si...er-shield-come-and-take-it-southern-freedom-0
There is now a (replacement?) design named "Silver Shield Come and Take it Southern Freedom Girl 1oz"
This post Mulligan Mint story becomes more confusing on every iteration. :P

Hedi has NO affiliation with the coin presented in the the link that you posted ( http://x.opencurrency.com/silver/five-o bered.html).
The company is selling a product which attempts to emulate her work, and piggyback on her success.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this is a copyright infringement
I will not support any company selling versions of her work without her permission.

There is a thread on Modern Coin Forum by the Sculptress of the Original Freedom Girl , Heidi Wastweet .
I believe she has been involved with the design and/or sculpture of more than 1000 coins/medals/rounds/tokens.
Here is a link from her website of a select few of those commissioned (http://www.wastweetstudio.com/commission_medals.html ).

As my post shows:
- http://x.opencurrency.com/silver/fi...4-sbss-arise-freedom-girl-proof-numbered.html sells coins with the Freedom Girl design
- http://sdbullion.com/silver/sbss-si...er-shield-come-and-take-it-southern-freedom-0 doesn't sell it anymore, instead, some new Freedom Girl - alike design named "Southern Freedom Girl".
What does this look like?
That former Mulligan Mint Rob Gray (owner of x.opencurrency.com and "Silver Bullet Silver Shield") legally owns the right on the original Freedom Girl design by Heidi Wastweet, and former Mulligan Mint Chris Duane (owner of "Silver Shield") not?
That was what my post asked.
Why then this bold... inverted reaction from you?

Cheers,
Pirocco!

Initially I thought this too... Rob Gray paid for the design thus he can change it all he wants. I work with a lot of design and the artwork I buy from other artist; I change to meet the needs of my clients.

BUT with a little of googling according to http://www.law.harvard.edu/faculty/martin/art_law/esworthy.htm law at Harvard so I'm going to take there word for it. Rob did not have the right to modify the original without Heidi's consent.

There is not much definite / specific mentioned there. So which 'word' you talk about then?

What changed: date and 1>5oz?
Are those elements part of the design?
Take for ex Silver Eagles.
Or any other design of coin or round.
Every minting year another date.
Do (or did, if he/she died) they need permission from the designs legal owner every year?

Was that consent given, or not, do you know?
It could be that in the beginning they agreed to allow certain changes (ex aboves oz / date). That could even be "standard terms" for aboves practical reasons.

Apparently, Chris Duane Silver Shield range doesn't contain original Freedom Girl rounds anymore (at least not on the places I found them before). And Duane also had a 5 oz version and ofc new year version of the Freedom Girl. So it does look like things reversed. Maybe some legal case that was running that finished? I don't know, hence I asked.
