I guess it was in 2011 when demand was low(no one knew the exact mintage) for these coins....

Agree...don't sell cheaply OP especially if your coin is in great condition.
The 5oz Rabbit is a key coin and even rarer than the very popular Tiger.
Not only that...it's got historical value that the average bloke isn't aware of.
H
can u bring me up to date an average bloke on the historical value? thanks
and how is the rabbit is the key mintage with double the mintage than the ox ? :/

dragafem...I didn't say rabbit is the key mintage...I said "The 5oz Rabbit is a key coin"Sorry for the confusion.
My meaning... the rabbit along with the Mouse and Ox are key coins in the 5oz bullion coins. (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) and since the series has quite a few more years until it ends (2019) they all could be good coins to have in ones collection.
Anyway...please don't look-into things too much...I'm not saying the Ox isn't a great coin it is.
imo I think the rabbit will out-perform the OX because a low mintage doesn't always reflect market appeal so although the Ox is second to the mouse, the Ox hasn't always been well accepted; sure...just like some of the once disliked early Koala coins they are gaining popularity and I hope the OX gains a premium just like the Mouse.
I think many of the Lunar collectors would have noticed that the OX for many years, had a similar retail price to the Rabbit and while Rabbit were selling for about $185AUD Jan 2011 to $325AUD August 2011 they had a drop in price around June 2012 to about $205AUD. Prices maybe on the rebound for these coins...I check ebay"sold" sales to try to keep a grip on prices.
So my historical ravewhich will probably be no good to you or the senior 5oz lunar collectors...here goes.
First of all the "Declared" mintage so far for the 5oz Bullion Lunars (Not including coloured bullion) are as follows:
2008 Mouse - 3,005 coins
