Perth Mint vs Southern Cross, SilverStackers, Scottsdale 10oz Bars.

Hey Guys,

I am after the opinion of the SS community.

I am looking to make a bulk purchase of 10oz bars and I am looking at getting some of the "Stacker Style" bars.

I have always bought Perth Mint items due to brand recognition etc, although I want to get the stackers because they store so much better (and look awesome!).

From the wealth of knowledge from the members in here, could you ever see me coming into trouble offloading the other types listed in title? Or would a bullion dealer pay me the appropriate price for a SS.com bar?

Look forward to reading the replies.

Thanks in advance.

You'd have no troubles mate. You'd probably get a better price and quicker sale on this forum come to think of it :)

The Scottsdale 10 oz stackers are very nice. It all comes down to what you want/like.
If you paid a premium for a Scottsdale over a Perth Mint bar you would pick that
back up on re selling. So no loss there regardless of what you get. All reasonably
priced 10oz bars I have seen on this site have sold very quickly for fair prices.

Straight from the box (hence the linty bits from the packaging) - I just picked two out for a photo. That's what you'll get - I didn't cherrypick or polish them for photos. The most recent batches seem to have improved in quality, the logo strikes and machining are far more consistent than the very original batch that came in.

You can find these in a number of Melbourne bullion dealers and the general public are lapping them up.

pm bars are world renown.scottsdale have a much larger worldwide presence and the other two are australian ordered out of the same mint as scottsdale so they all fit. so really three are the same.

Oh great! I'm delighted to hear that they all fit ttogether. I thought I was limited to Scottsdales on Scottsdales

I've stuck to the Perth Mint bars as you've said for brand recognition (internationally) and it generally has a lower premium than the stackable bars.

Downside is, they can be horribly ugly and they prefer to fall off each other rather than be stacked.

Where are the best places to buy the stackers from?

Depends on your location ... suggest you set it up in your profile.

Can get SC and Silverstackers all over.... try goldstackers.com

If you're in Melbourne you can get them over the counter at ABC even.

(normally I'd have stock ... but I'm on 3-4 week back order)

I just bought some SC from BullionMoney. I am keen to get some SS bars in the kit, will see what the price does in the coming days and will get some from GoldStackers.

If you drill a hole in the same part of every bar, then put a steel rod through them all together, i find that they stack a bit better. You can do this with all sizes of PM bars but i generally only keep the same size on the same rod. Just keep the tailings of the silver/gold as its probably worth a couple of dollars.

Me neither......Perhaps the site has crashed or the Silver price crashed them.
