I've stuck to the Perth Mint bars as you've said for brand recognition (internationally) and it generally has a lower premium than the stackable bars.

Downside is, they can be horribly ugly and they prefer to fall off each other rather than be stacked.

If you drill a hole in the same part of every bar, then put a steel rod through them all together, i find that they stack a bit better. You can do this with all sizes of PM bars but i generally only keep the same size on the same rod. Just keep the tailings of the silver/gold as its probably worth a couple of dollars.

:D

Really? Now they don't weight 10oz anymore, what are you going to do when you sell it, give them a little baggie with the tailings? I certainly wouldn't buy a bar with a hole in it, and if there was a choice, I'm pretty sure no-one else will either.

I really hope you guys are joking about drilling holes in your PM bars!! I bought a few SC bars which should be arriving on Tuesday (damn public holiday tomorrow!).

I will post some pics when they arrive.

I'm sure by offloading you mean to n00bs, not guys that have been in the stacking scene for a while and would obviously buy them.

So would noobs buy them?

Something tells me they would trust the bars second best to the big fat mint names. :/
However, I don't think it would be a problem for anyone that posts on SS, new or old :|

The world wide market is accessed through ebay.
Particular brands may produce better and quicker sales turnovers.
That should be part of your research.
