I've purchased a Paul Kruger Z.A.R. GOLD ONE POND of 1898 from the local coin dealer today. I paid $333 (R4000 - ZAR) for it. It is my first gold one pond ever purchased. Do you own any gold "ponde"? What are your thoughts?

Just your first pond, or first gold coin?silverbullion said:I've purchased a Paul Kruger Z.A.R. GOLD ONE POND of 1898 from the local coin dealer today. I paid $333 (R4000 - ZAR) for it. It is my first gold one pond ever purchased. Do you own any gold "ponde"? What are your thoughts?

If it is your first pond then id say gold is gold.
If however it is your first gold coin then , YEHAA!!!!!!!
Gold is beautiful and awesome to own and once you get a taste it is hard to ignore.
My first coin just about hooked me , but the final nail was when i went to flip a mass of silver and a little bit of gold.
Got similar money for the little bit of gold in my hand as i did for the BAG of silver.
Love both but the value in gold is just so dense![]()

Now over the next few months, I don't know. My gut feel is maybe we head up a little then sideways.
Post a picture of your coin!

A great historical item! An excellent price too. Still in pretty good condition too.
It's identical to a sovereign in it's purity, weight and size.
