About the Gods of Ancient Greece - Poseidon

Gods of Ancient Greece - Poseidon This coin marks the fourth release in a series of five 'Gods of Ancient Greece' from New Zealand Mint. The design for this 2 oz rectangular Silver coin has been inspired by classical Greek art, sculpture and architecture. In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the God of the Sea and protector of many Hellenic cities such as Corinth. In addition to this, he was also known as 'the tamer of horses' and 'the earth shaker' due to his role in causing earthquakes.

Reverse Design
This high relief, rectangular coin, channels classical and renaissance paintings and sculptures of this iconic God of Ancient Greece. In classical artwork, Poseidon was often associated with dolphins and lived in a palace on the ocean floor, made of coral and gems. This coin captures the God in all his power, riding on Dolphins and set against the rolling waves of the ocean. His hand grasps an upheld trident (three pronged spear) symbolizing his authority over the sea.

Obverse Design
This features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Packaging
The Gods of Ancient Greece Poseidon 2 oz 999 Fine Silver coin is displayed inside a coin case imitating a classic Greek temple of the Ionic order. The set of 5 'Gods of Ancient Greece' coins are designed to line up to represent an Ancient Greek temple. The coin title is Gold foiled on the attractive marblesque outer case.

Not for me, but could see why some would jump on it.

Any photos / video of the actual bar? Couldn't find any via a quick search.

It was released on the 17th Nov so thought there'd be some pics/video of it but didn't find anything either.

I am follower of this series rather than Perth mints.

No regret but this coin definite not for flipping and no investment value.
