About the Gods of Ancient Greece - Poseidon
Gods of Ancient Greece - Poseidon This coin marks the fourth release in a series of five 'Gods of Ancient Greece' from New Zealand Mint. In Greek mythology, Poseidon was the God of the Sea and protector of many Hellenic cities such as Corinth. In addition to this, he was also known as 'the tamer of horses' and 'the earth shaker' due to his role in causing earthquakes.
Reverse Design

His hand grasps an upheld trident (three pronged spear) symbolizing his authority over the sea.
