New 2oz Scottsdale round

#498's are up!

With still plenty of time left to bid on these very unique pieces at quite the bargain!

Seriously, though, I don't fault Scottsdale for doing this. Smart marketing move ($$) on their part.

They know they've got some hardcore fanboys out there.

I can't imagine they'd shut out the rest of the world, though. If they do, that's stupid.

Opened up to INTERNATIONAL bidding I see.

They must be reading this forum. ;)

Though they probably should have started international with the #497 100-gram counter-part..

I got mine in today (direct from Scottsdale)..

Really nice! Did one of each (2-oz, 100-gram, 5-oz) -- for now.

Definitely picking up another set at some point.

The design & relief are awesome. Only stacked them once, which is cool how that works & looks. Make sure they're lined up, as there's enough play, but not much.

Quality is very good, too. Only a few tiny faint scratches on the faces here & there. Excellent strike. High relief just jumps out at you.

My biggest issue with them is probably the edges. All smooth; they should have done reeded.. which obviously would have jacked up the price some more, but probably worth it.

Smooth edges show varying degrees of production marks.

Also, the edges are a bit too sharp.

My last negative is that the nose of my 5-oz could be a tiny bit better, if you look up close & in strong light. It looks good, just not MS 70 good. ;)

If I had to get just one size, I'd go with the 100-gram. The thickness is the best proportion for that diameter, IMO. The 5-oz is a bit much & shows too much of the production marks on the edges, and probably would have been better off increasing the diameter; but then, it wouldn't stack with the others, would it, heh.

And the 2-oz just seems like a thick coin.

100-gram is where it's at!

They're all really cool, though. Glad I got them, and will be throwing in another set, probably with my next Scottsdale order.

If you're on the fence, just grab 'em! Worth it.

P.S. If they ever did a larger-diameter 10-oz with reeded edges, I'd be all over that..

They are beautiful, and of course a little over priced for bullion, BUT, they look nice. You ain't gonna make any money selling them later for much over spot, BUT I just ordered some because I want to play with them.

I got 10 of the 2 oz., 4 of the 100 gram, and 2 of the 5 oz. I just ordered these a few days before Christmas, so I haven't seen them in person yet.
