I just got both my 1oz and 5oz 2015 proof Brits, didn't bother to take any decent photos or unboxing. They go straight into my safe.

If the 2015 coins you received look terrible as you claim, why are you putting them in your safe...why not return them?

With the 2014 5oz coins, the spots were there when the coin arrived. Didn't have to wait .

I think the 2014 design surprised allot of people, and while the 2015 design is also very good, it is not as daring or as much of a departure from expectations as was the 2014 design.

With the Royal Mint having learned that T&A moves product, rumor has it that the 2016 Britannia will feature ample cleavage..![]()

Same thing happened to me. Both 2013 and 2014 5oz proof Brit has milk spots straight out from the mint packaging. 3 returns for 2013, 1 return for 2014.
Surprisingly zero spots for 2015!
And from the finishing looks like it is from the initial production run (nice and sharp edges). My 2014 5oz 1st copy was decent (although with spots), but its replacement has some "wear" on the corners.... clear sign of the die wearing off.
Silverpv said:Question for you guys,
What do you guys think of a 2014 5oz proof that's slabbed but no COA? Does the COA matter more than the slab? It's a PF70 btw. I just picked one up, but it didn't come with the COA. It does say its one of the first 750 slabbed by NGC.
Thoughts?
Silverpv said:The COA is from the Royal Mint, not NGC. I'm still thinking I'll have it checked out just to be sure. For the price I paid, I'm really surprised I got a PF70.
Stark said:I bought mine late as well and overpaid it. Well at least based on the initial price. I was looking quite some time to get another one. I was offered at least 3 for sale, that had milkspots. I hope mine won't develop them. Pretty lame for such an amazing coin with big premium.
Silverpv said:Geez, I got the coin and it has milkspots... Quite depressing... What a pity! I ended up talking to the dealer for a return.
