New 2014 Proof Britannia is an absolute beauty

Ridiculous prices... i doubt in 20 years time these will be going for anywhere near that. For the time being... people are cashing in nicely.

Or these scarce coins could be selling for considerably more in 20 years.

The truth is, no one knows. It will depend largely on how popular the series will be in 20 years time.

Yeah, who knows. :)

Later I noticed, but I couldn't posted due to the problems with the site that best offer was accepted for one. That's quite a pity as I'm curios for how much it was sold. :)

And this seller has even higher price. Reduced from 1750GBP to 1450GBP (feeBay says around 2200$):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2014-5oz-UK-Proof-Silver-High-Relief-Britannia-only-600-minted-SOLD-OUT-/111609745267?

I wonder if any of the sold ones have milk spots.

I have a feeling that when the 2015 5 oz proof silver is put up for sale later this year, the 2014 5 oz proof will again see increased demand and may push the prices even higher.

Even if there were small milk spots, the very appealing design, the very limited mintage, and the fact that it's a Britannia proof silver coin means that most collectors won't care that there's some spots on them....it seems.

No question in my mind that the 5 oz proof silver Britannia was one of the hottest coins in all of 2014. Too bad that there was no way I could afford to buy the 5 oz gold...otherwise I would have. :)

Is there a date yet when the 2015 coins are to be released, update me on this when was the 2014 coins issued ? New to britannia's :D

A new britannia fan

July 2014 is when I believe the proof 2014 Britannia's went on sale from the RM.

Yeah, I would also like to have golden one. :) I'm lucky that at least I got one for half reasonable price. Would be nice to have more than one.
Well better one than none. :)

First post appeared here in 1st of July 2014. It will be quite a challenge to do similar or even better design. Let's see! :)

These have become way too bubbly, at least for my liking.

Definitely a hot-looking coin, though.

Yes, I missed out on it. But certainly not going to pay these prices.

Any reason you didn't pull the trigger on one when they first went on sale back in July 2014?

Too busy buying other things.. :(

Also, for the longest time I had an aversion to proofs. Had my reasons. I've come around a bit since, but those reasons still hold true to some degree. Though certainly appreciate them much more these days.

These 5 oz are beautiful! I don't have one but grats to all who got one at or near issue! Definitely a stand out coin!

Yeah. I didn't have much money when it was released. Was saving for my holidays. I bought it when it was much more expensive. Now I don't have much money as well, but I have this beauty! :)

Looking at the sluggish sales of this year's 2015 Britannia, I think we can say that last year's 2014 is a winner. I think the 2014 design surprised allot of people, and while the 2015 design is also very good, it is not as daring or as much of a departure from expectations as was the 2014 design.

Compare 2015 against 2014... 2015 looks terrible.

I just got both my 1oz and 5oz 2015 proof Brits, didn't bother to take any decent photos or unboxing. They go straight into my safe.

Received my 5oz silver coin a couple of days ago. I think it is stunning. The finishing is way better than the 2014 coin - no spots.
