Hand pours

When the greeks were making coins they used clay molds. They made wax disks the size of the coins, attached them to a sprue and then covered the lot in clay. Baked it and then poured what was left of the wax out. Poured metal into the void and then smacked out the coins from the clay mold.

As Levant says, it is a one off!

I don't suppose you can get high temperature silicone molds can you? That would make life too easy!

Wonder if a kiln fired clay mould could be used- can creat beautiful intricate designs in clay quite easily

A little off topic but if this is what you are interested in then you can get a product called Precious Metal Clay, essentially silver filings in a binder. Can be shaped and worked like clay, sanded, have bits attached to it just like working with clay but at the end when you fire it...

...you burn off all the binder just leaving the silver filings which sinter together to make your design.

very expensive way of doing it though.

I thought as much but so far I have only found silicon for low temp metals like pewter, lead and tin.

Nothing for precious metals.

Here is another one I just made. It has very tiny spots of borax as I haven't got my new crucibles yet and the pattern was too nice to sand away. It's hard to see in the photo but it still turned out nice.

I'll be buying more silver this weekend so I'll be able to make a few more

Just had confirmation on my molds, should have them within a week or so. 4oz PMB branded kitkat and something different in shape, but I'll wait until I pour into it before I show It will be 5oz and up

Thats last pic of the round with what looks like FS stamped in it sums up my thoughts on theses bars ie. FS "fully sick" in a good way!

I have some Rodebaugh 100g Ingots comimg in and SS#5 1oz Ingots coming in that I will be stocking

as well as the 1oz Classics

I will have some better pictures of the SS #5 when they come in. Doc Rodebaugh strives for the perfect bar. He is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.

The SS #5 has a mintage of 225 and 200 will be released. I will have a good portion of that mintage for SS members. Consecutive numbers are available
