The coins may be fake walking liberty half dollars. Still the wrong year, but they were minted in the early 1900s and would be as worn. Possibly the reason you don't see the back of these coins is that they don't match the ASE design.

As spoken above, it is a fake ASE.

There is another silverstacker member that was present with me. I'll leave it up to that person to decide whether to enter into this dispute. Together I'm pretty sure we saw fake ASEs dated the year 2000.

A picture of the reverse is provided:

yennus that does not look like the same coin that you showed the front of in the other picture. The previous picture shows the front of a very worn coin. The picture above shows the reverse of an ASE in very good condition. I have never seen a coin with an extremely worn front and a very good reverse.

Picked up a bunch of fake morgan, trade dollars and an American Silver Eagle today
God awful fakes.
Might trick a tourist but no stacker is going to be fooled by these fakes.
The American Silver Eagle had an 1816 date and was aged
Will be bringing it to the Sydneystackers meet this Sunday if anyone wants to view it.

Yennus, thanks for posting details on the Fake Panda, I was under the impression the double seal was a good thing to look for. Now it looks like I need to re-think that. Cheers I am sure you have saved me some money.

I also saw a Mirrored 2000 Panda going cheap on Ebay it looked pretty close, but I asked for higher res images Guess what no response. So no bids for me just in case. I can walk away from a bargain as the saying goes "If it looks to good to be true then it probably is"

I have yet to see a fake ASE
The fakes everybody is talking about are
American
Silver
Dollars
And all have been pre 1930

I've seen those fakes here in EU, one idiot bought them. One side on some of them is similar to ASE, the other is not. The 'quality' is shitty, the coins stink (really), the diameter is way to small, the weight is way too low, they turn black and spotty very fast.

They have about the same chance for being mistaken for the real thing as monopoly money.
