Bought first 10oz bar today

Bought my first 10 oz bar today. So excited. Carrying it around in my pocket it's a 10 oz Johnson matthey bar paid 228.30 for it after tax. I could of bought generic for 1.00 over spot instead of 2.50 over spot for the matthey. I ordered one of the new matthey 10 oz bars from jm bullion but am getting tired of waiting for it.
 
New JM bars ship tomorrow and can't wait for mine. Congratulations on your purchase! Ten ounces are addictive.
 
This is how it starts. First you're carrying a 10 ouncer in your pocket and before you know it you'll be stuffing mighty kilo bars in your underpants, scaring old ladies and generally causing havoc wherever you go.

When novelty wears off, its time to find a different bar.
Try some poured bars for fun. I think you will like them. Dont have to worry about handling and damaging them.

Maggie here on this site has a lot of Hand Pours to choose from

In the US, APMEX has a pretty good selection

I only have 1, i do like them but im unwilling to pay 50% over spot + that most are asking for them.
 
First hand pour should be Silvertowne. JMBULLION has them at or near a standard bar.

Yes, i had forgotten about them.

The Atlantis, Prospector and Bison from APMEX also dont have too big of a premium

I used my ebay bucks to get a 3oz Bison poured loaf from apmex on Ebay. Pretty cool little bar but I'm not too impressed with the tiny size for a poured bar. I'm look into the MCM 10oz bar, relativly close to spot and nice looking besides all the text slapped onto it.

I dont recommend paying high premium for poured bars. Just look into modern poured bars and not the old ones that are going for ridiculous prices such as jm or engelhard. There are silvertown, scottsdale and my favourite monarch precious metals so to name a few. These sells relatively close to spot. I personally wouldnt buy home made poured bars cuz it might be dificult to unload those later.
 
Gonna stck with modern poured. Don't like premium on old bars. Unless I see a good one at a local store close to spot.
 
Got any pics of the newly minted JM 10oz bars?

Poured bars will come with a premium cos its more of a collector's item.
