Bought first 10oz bar today

I also just purchased my first silver -- can't wait until it arrives! I bought five 10z bars at $206.4 per bar -- no tax or shipping. My cost basis was about 5% over spot, which seems reasonable.

No offense to the OP, but doesn't it seem crazy to pay sales tax on silver, which is basically money!?

Hmm it does? I didn't even know that, since despite living in WI, I've only ever bought from APMEX and other online retailers (or Australian online retailers, and picked up my shipment when I make my visits home to Australia).

Guess I won't be buying local then. 5.5% is a hefty extra premium.

I'm in your area. I'm only buying 10oz bars for now but I'm not buying any "fancy" ones. In the mail are some Sunshine Mints. I'm good with those. I did go into a coin shop to check things out but I'm only using JMBullion for now. Not interested in paying tax. Just have to be patient.

Stacking is addicting but expensive.
