i have the opportunity at present to purchase some kooks $1 coins dated from 1991 through to 1996 for a price of $43. I have just recently bought my first kook 1990 at $43.. Bought it on a hunch that there seemed to be a few buyers out there asking for it.
Do you think, I should get these kooks at $43 or should I just let them go through to the keeper?
Your answers would be appreciated.

Are they re-strikes errol43?
imo, $43 is a bit expensive for a re-strike.
With all these re-struck Kooks in the market, there's going to be collectors who have mixed sets of first strikes and re-strikes.
I'd say we will see collectors that:
Make a set of first strike coins.
Make a set of mixed, first strike and re-struck coins.
Sets that are just re-strikes.
There's plenty of collectors that want perfect coins which will be graded MS70. Those coins when sent to the graders will come back as MS70 first strike or MS70 restrike.
There's going to be a lot of confusion in the market, so before buying your Kooks, it might be a good idea to work-out what you want to collect and why.
I hope this helps in some way and FWIW, just enjoy your purchase. If you think spot will rise in the future a $43 Kook could be seen as very good buying.
Cheers
