I'm calling it now. Within 20 years the AUD will be worth precisely zero. Physical dollars won't even be worth anything as toilet paper since it is made of that plastic material.

The world is moving on. Technological, engineering and energy advances will make Australian resource exports worthless as mineral extraction from currently unviable sources will become incredibly cheap. Advances in agriculture and food production will enable food to be grown close to the point of consumption. Realestate will collapse as extreme advances in off-grid technologies will enable radical decentralisation of the populace.
Of course we will likely be using something else in place of the AUD. But it may bear no resemblance to what we know today.
