sorry about that last bid of 195. A typo intended to be 995. If that disqualifies me its on me:(:(

All good mate, keep your powder dry...still a bit of time to go yet ;)
You're currently leading with your $980 bid (but may have "telegraphed" your next move )
I try to discourage members from out-bidding themselves...had a bit of an "episode" with that in an Auction many moons ago (@REDBACK ?!? :p)

Auction finish starting in around 103 minutes' time

Speaking of Under Spot Gold & Silver, we've already had a look at the Olympic Centennial Set (here), so let's dig a bit more into the Hutt River Province (later named The Principality of Hutt River)
This was a micronation formed in the North-West of Western Australia, when Leonard Casley (later "His Majesty Prince Leonard I of Hutt") had a beef with the Western Australian government over wheat quotas o_O
Wikipedia have quite a comprehensive page on it here and it basically stood for 50 years before being dissolved last year in August (apparently another victim of Covid?)
As for the rounds on offer here, Numista has the Proof Sovereign listed with a mintage of only 2000 (and it weighs slightly heavy at 8.04gms .916 gold :D) with the $100 6oz Silver Proof having a mintage of only 500 (mintage references in the initial post)

Also the Numista page has the sovereign in this Auction as it picture reference :D

These coins are in great condition (although I did notice 2 red spots on the Automobile side of the Sovereign) and represent a great historic reference to our Australian story (and an excellent "middle finger" to the govmint )

Auction finish starting in 1 & 1/4 hours' time :)

I have an old 1 ounce gold blob with a red spot. PIcked up knowingly here on SS as I had done some research and found that they are not common but sometimes occur. Supposedly heating over the red spot with a small torch at a high temp will get rid iof them but I've never tried it. If I remember correctly bubblebobbie2 had something with a read spot a couple years ago but I don't remember more than that.

Ahoy, Welcome Aboard and thanks for the bids to our 2nd pm Bidder (#15), another long standing member (who I, and many others, have had multiple deals with) wishing to remain anonymous but getting Lot 1 (Olympics) and Lot 3 (Hutt River) off and running :)

Leader-Board

Lot 1 (Olympics) – $1285 / Bidder #15
Lot 2 (Pandas) – $305 / sonypony
Lot 3 (Hutt River) – $845 / Bidder #15
Lot 4 (The Sovs) – $980 / nutshell
Lot 5 (Sov Holders) – $390 / Shawn

Auction finish starting in around 1 hours' time

Have seen this "phenomena" mentioned several times before so while rare it's not uncommon...not sure I'd be taking a blow torch to it though lol
