Hi SS

Tonight I would like to introduce you to two fighters Argali -Ovis Ammon. VS. Bison D'Europe!
Both coins have antique finish and both are developed by CIT. Both coins have SWAROVSKI elements.

All comments welcome! Let's begin!!!

When I received Argali I knew what expect of this coin.(I have two previous coins of this series). Even The Mongolian series have come down quite a bit. I will continue buying them every year(at list one for my collection).

2013 Argali -Ovis Ammon. I paid 299 Euro+shipping

Bison D'Europe ...We all realized that all antique finish coins with crystal eyes look like they are just copies of Mongolian coins, until now! This is real!!! This coin is like Mongolian coin but twice heavier and almost 12mm bigger in diameter. I can see this coin going up in value.

2012 Bison D'Europe. I paid $249+shipping

So.. who is going to win this fight ? In my opinion Bison...first coin in series, 2 oz , 999pcs mintage, 50 mm, and cheaper then Argali.

argali for me! the symmetrical aspect of it and the red coloured eyes just does it for me

"the symmetrical aspect of it" you right about that. I think Bison was to big to fit him like Argali.

I like this forest details on left. It shows where this bison coming from. On Mongolian you don't have any background.

They are both great designs.

For value, the Bison is so fitting and chunky as a 2oz.

I would go for the Bison as well.

I'm with you. As far as look, IMHO, Argali. No question. As far as potential for greater gain relatively speaking to price, I say the Bison wins out. I do collect to see what coin gets greatest price appreciation, but also for artistic appeal. The Argali art works for me, although I think it is priced too high.

For me the winner is the Argali, for the eyes. Perfect colour and placement of the Swarovski elements.
The bison is in high quality deep relief, the well known CIT quality. It has a great potential, we'll see if it will be a nice series.
By the way I bought both two coins, one for personal collection and another to sell, but not yet ;)

The Argali looks angry and ready to fight, the bison looks adorable in need of pets and caresses. I was expecting the opposite :)

Alex.

Bison looks nicer to me, although Argali it's not bad either. Hard choice. :)

Must admit though that didn't know there were any bisons in Europe. :) :P

There is no reference to the Bison on the CIT site, other than the COA looking like one from CIT, what leads you to believe it is a CIT coin?

CIT produces also commissioned projects where the whole mintage is given to the dealer, and in that case the coin is not showed on CIT website (they couldn't provide any coin to their own distributors directly, so they don't show it).
I know also other coins made by CIT with no reference on their website, for example the wonderful "Nano Sistine Chapel" coin with nano-chip.
Beside the COA, the bison is 100% CIT quality: deep relief, perfect details, superior finish.

Alex.

Yeah, I've also heard that Nano Sistine was made by CIT, but there is no mentioning of coin on their site. Also certificates look identical. It would be a really monstrous copy cat if they make also same certificates. :)

Also the font on coins (at least on face) look the same. :)

We should do this kind of coins competition with side by side comparing more often.
With these big pictures I also appreciate many details I didn't see at first sight with coin in hand :)

Alex.

Initially I was against the Bison coin, but these pics of the coin makes it look much better than I originally thought.

I still think the background blends in too much with the Bison but at least its not as dark as I thought.

Could be an interesting series!

I just bought the last coin in the Canadian wildlife series which is the Bison. Beautiful coin beautiful background. I think the Canadian wildlife series was a successful series.
This large bison is a really an awesome piece. I didn't think much about it when i first saw it, But i have had a change of mind. Hope it does well.

Bison look is quite nice to me. But when I see Argali and those red eyes, I see devil in them. Like the coin wants to hypnotize me. They've probably did this intentionally - the longer you stare at the coin, the harder it will be to resist purchasing it.

The 3rd picture is even scarier.

On 4th its look is kinda "stupid", innocence, just waiting to get slaughtered. But there is some devil involved which will make you walk straight into his trap.

Watch Devil's Advocate if you don't believe me. :)

I was trying to find that 2 ounce Bison listed as a C I T piece on the site, And i don't see that piece listed as a C I T piece. Maybe i am looking wrong.

I know the Argali is, But can't find the 2 ounce Bison.
I did confirm that the Bison is NOT a CIT coin, though it was supposed to be. That's all I can say about that.
