*** Argali - Ovis Ammon vs. Bison D'Europe ***

Bison FTW! Size and mintage are the deciding factors.

But, as already mentioned, the symmetrical nature of the Argali is quite attractive. Maybe they should do a 2oz version of the Argali!

I know the Argali is, But can't find the 2 ounce Bison.
I did confirm that the Bison is NOT a CIT coin, though it was supposed to be. That's all I can say about that.

Huh? Its a coin commissioned thru CIT that CIT managed the production on for a buyer. This Bison coin is from 2012 so why seeing it mentioned now. I assume its been around for awhile and maybe the original buyer has finally liquidated his excess stock to all the well known coin dealers. Seen that before with other coins. See Prehstoric Sabretooth for example.

I think that date hallmark on the coins doesn't necessarily indicate the issue year.
That is only the year that the issuing country has authorized for that coin.
Sometimes coins are postponed for various reasons, but the authorization year indicated from the government cannot be changed.
I saw snake coins dated 2013 issued in 2012, and also 2011 coins issued in 2013.
Alex.
