They're probably too sick of dealing with informed customers to create any problems with it.

And the courier driver came by this afternoon with my coins. All in all about 2 weeks from order to delivery. APMEX looks great to order from so long as the $A is doing well and you make a large order to cover the costs of postage, wire transfer fee and customs fee.

Help!!

Trying to wire money to APMEX, but it is so confusing, sent 2 emails for help and no reply so far.

This is the instructions given:

USD Bank Wire info
Pay direct to: JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. New York (CHASUS33) under direct SWIFT advice to JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., CHASGB2L
For the account of: JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (CHASGB2L), account number "0010962009"
Ultimate Beneficiary: AMERICAN PRECIOUS METALS EXCHANGE INC
For further credit to : Account number 41400920
IBAN GB32CHAS60924241400920

Where is the routing code? And which account number do I use??

I am so confused and at the moment wondering if I am an extreme buffoon or is it APMEX that is not too clear.

Assuming you're based in Australia - how are you trying to pay? Via OzForex, or via your bank's online banking international transfer?

The IBAN is the absolutely unique identifier for the end account - that's all I would need with ANZ for example:

Speak to your bank and ask them direct. Remember that some banks will use an intermediary that will deduct fees along the way - so you send $2000 USD, but only $1900 USD arrives :/ Not sure how APMEX handle that, they probably ask for a CC for the difference.

Are imported bullion bars subject to customs fees ? ..I have fallin in love with Apmex IRS accepted CNC milled bars , they are on my must have list .. actually they look very very similar to Southern Cross bars except for the printing , does anybody know if they are milled by the same refiner ???

As far as I know they're one of only five different designs available globally - same manufacturer.

Academy (now out of production I believe)
APMEX
Scottsdale
Southern Cross
Silver Stackers (which will be here soonish)

Read the sticky thread on GST to see what bullion is and isn't liable for GST - you'll pay a customs processing fee - and for heavens sake don't buy from somewhere that uses Fedex for shipping into Australia, as they charge GST on any bullion imports (and fight you and tell you you're wrong).

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. But I finally figured out through the damned iban. Tried looking through google for the swift code etc.

So, APMEX is based in U.S.A.

The account they told me to pay to is US dollars, but it is located in United Kingdom... (WTF!).

Anyway, that's how it goes, transfer to U.K. with the swift code info (had to break it down using google to extract routing code etc).

Then typed in the instruction to forward to APMEX with swiftcode CHASUS33 and their account number at the end. Quoting my transaction number with APMEX. They got the money in the end.

What a long winded way of doing things. Some customer reports that this happened since their move to JP Morgan.

As for customs fees, I will post once I got my stuff. Some users said no GST etc. Will let you guys know once I collect my item (end of next week I think).

Any more feedback on how ampex is with G.S.T exemption etc...I have my own business would it help to use my business A.B.N number?

Can you please write again what you did. Specifically, the UK thing. I have the same problem, my bank at anz said they need a swift code and acc number of the final bank but the info i have has an IBAN which is used by the EU, and the bank is located in the UK, similar to what you said.

I know the JPMChase swift is CHASUS33, but is the apmex account number the one they provide or is that the bank's?

Grrrrrr

Support your local independent dealer - you'll have to because PM doesn't have any shiny shiny Bro' lol!

VRS ;)x

fuck there needs to be a system like paypal for this kind of stuff minus the paypal fees, paypal would be fucking awesome if they didnt charge any fees, at the most it should be 1% , they would make a killing in just the advertising, just like facebook

Sorry to revive an old thread!

Do you guys know if the GST exemption only applies to pure bullion, and not coins such as the 1oz gold South African Krugerrand?
