    Perth Mint mintage policy

I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this as yet (I've not fully read the thread) but wouldn't a different mintmark on the restrikes clear up at least SOME of the confusion? +1 for at least trying to sort the matter and setting maximum mintage numbers that PM actually adhere to will provide some...

What to do with a "Toned" S2 Dragon

+1 for Silver Stackers Forum... I've had a very kind offer from another member to swap the coin AT NO CHARGE! :) Austacker....it's all good, it was a win, win situation and there's no bad blood whatsoever...was just asking some advice, definitely not winging about the trade or trader! ;) I think...

What to do with a "Toned" S2 Dragon

Thanks allot folks :) GP, you're spot on the money with the "Defect"....it's not so much toning, you'd think if it was toning due to exposure to air that it would've affected the whole coin but as I say, it's just a very small semi-circle extending from the rim to half way through the top loop...

What to do with a "Toned" S2 Dragon

Alrighty folks, I'd really appreciate your help on this one: Recently I received a 1oz S2 Dragon as part of a trade with another member here on SS, When the coin arrived I noticed a "Shadow" of toning on the obverse just up near the rim. It's ever so slight, semi-circular, about 7mm at its...

How long do you give a seller to make it right?

That's why (unlike yourself), I have no intention of attempting to alter the feedback I gave you as a buyer. You as a buyer have recourse in the form of feedback after the fact, I as a seller leave feedback upon payment being received . No, I don't see a double standard at all. I've now got a...

How long do you give a seller to make it right?

Something tells me this particular buyer isn't the forgiving type! I thought the Chinese Whispers had gone on long enough and it better to be open, honest and frank than be silent. I did the right thing: At the time I offered part refund, the I'd still not taken delivery of the coins & did so as...

How long do you give a seller to make it right?

Yes, refund was made in full including postage both ways. I don't see how I could've satisfied this buyer under any circumstances.

How long do you give a seller to make it right?

I'll save you all the trouble and name myself! I am the seller in question & I did my utmost to rectify the situation given the circumstances. I did not receive delivery of the coins until today & upon receiving them, I made special effort to deposit the refund over the counter so the funds were...

Silver bullion coin - milk spots

Jewelry wipes aren't a great idea imho... Even the most gentle cause minor abrasions to the surface of the coins....that's essentially how they work (along with various chemicals). Airtite them & cut your losses. That'd be my course of action!

    Engelhard Silver 10oz

Couldn't agree more! I'm shocked at the insanely high prices people are paying for them. I mean it's fantastic for the sellers & I applaud them for taking the proverbial bull by the horns while the bulls fighting but....WOW! It can't last though, as with all bubbles, it'll burst. Probably when...

Silver bullion coin - milk spots

From what I understand it's mainly on .9999 (Especially RCM & for some reason, especially 2009!) coins and has to do with borax residue left from the minting process: When the coins are washed after minting and not hand dried, any water left on them with borax residue in it evaporates to leave...

Old gold pocketwatch (WWII) - any idea of value?

Sadly I have to agree with the Ape ;) The intrinsic gold value outweighs the value of it as an Antique I'm afraid!
