    Kilo Silver Proof COA

Some of the coins they list in their online shop forever. For example they are still selling hundreds of older gilded lunar coins. Actually some of them had very low numbers at some stage and suddenly the availability numbers increased massively. So why should they keep hundreds of gilded and...

    kg coins

Well, Ron Currie (or someone else from the mint, don't remember) said here that they will do a stock take early this year of the newer numismatic coins (after 200x) and then close off the mintages. He also said that they won't remint any of them until then. At least that is what I remember...

    kg coins

I bet the mouse and ox three coin silver proof sets and proof kilos are next! They have probably minted them already. Somehow I still believe they won't do it (just like I thought they won't remint the bullion kilos anytime soon), but my confidence in this is rapidly going down the drain.

    kg coins

Let me add one more piece of rant: If the Mint remints the kilo coins when the silver price is much higher than when they originally released the coins, then it is "to some degree" acceptable. BUT: To release the reminted coins at a time when they are CHEAPER then what they were selling for...

    kg coins

I bought my last 2008-2010 kg lunar coin in 2011 and at that time no one was thinking that the PM would actually remint them. Just like no one was thinking that the PM would remint Kookaburra coins. I know people who paid over $2000 for a kg mouse and I feel very sorry for them! No need to...

No outrage from you regarding the remininting of the Kookaburra coins??? One of us needs to check their memory.

    kg coins

I don't agree with that. Just because the Perth Mint can, didn't mean they will -- in the past. Same with the Kookaburras, obviosuly there was nothing that stopped them from reminting them, but no one ever thought they would. But all of a sudden the Perth Mint does remint them and this caused...

Did you sell all your sets or do you have some more?

    Perth Mint mintage policy

Just to refresh your memories, this was about 2oz Kookaburras. I was wondering if they got reminted as one seller was offering hundreds of every year. I now had the opportunity to take a look at the ones that were sold by this seller. They were all in round capsules and came in rolls, just...

    what is it worth?

What! COA number 164, that set was stolen from me five years ago! (This is a joke and only for those people who think that a coin without a COA must be stolen :) )

Australian Lunar Series II - 2oz Silver Proof Twelve-Coin Collection

I think that is only because the seller had zero feedback. I wouldn't have bought a 10kg mouse for more than that from an overseas seller with zero feedback...

    Perth Mint mintage policy

Baron, then just replace Snake privy with any other coin you fancy :) It was just an example and they might have contracts for 2oz kooks.

    Perth Mint mintage policy

I'm not so sure. The mint probably has long term contracts with some of these big dealers and have committed to deliver e.g. the 1oz Snake privy. Now the difficult task might be to convince the dealers that it is in the dealers best interest not to insist on their contracts, etc etc. I totally...

    Perth Mint mintage policy

Are there no old brochures or flyers where they say that the Kookaburra mintage will be closed off at the end of the year, just like it says for the Lunar series? I always automatically assumed this would be the case for Kookaburras too, but cannot remember if I have actiually read it on...

    what is it worth?

I was joking of course. Many collectors (in the US particularly) slab all their coins and dump the COAs. They couldn't care less about the COA. As I was saying a few posts ago, I assume COAs could be easily faked and it probably wouldn't even be a major offense.

Spanner, with no outer box they are stolen for sure!

    what is it worth?

Welcome newbie. There are too few of these sets available and people are holding them tight. The last one I have seen on ebay was a tiger set maybe 2 years ago for $400 buy now. I am still biting myself for not buying it.
