Gold the Once and Future Currency - Rickards

I guess the idea is that because inflation is 2% this is more or less how much gold will appreciate in terms of dollars, which is double than the yield of a 10year note.

    Warning to All Goldbugs

Just a matter of personal opinions. For this guy silver is currently overvalued while gold is undervalued. https://monetary-metals.com/and-then-there-was-none-backwardation-18-oct-2015/

    Warning to All Goldbugs

Actually so far Leon got many calls right and anybody should give him that. The fact that he has zero trades is completely irrelevant. My only objection is that what he calls "smackdown" might be relevant in paper trading but it is completely irrelevant for long term physical holders. And he...

    niue and tokelau

Maples are the only ones with a nominal value potentially higher than recycled silver production cost per ounce. Every other nominal value is worthless and should not command a premium over generic rounds.

    niue and tokelau

Hey, you just asked about the exchange rate... Were you expecting to find a "Tokelau NZD" in xe? If that's the case, I should be able to find an "Austria EUR". I wonder what happens if I try to exchange a silver philharmonic for nominal value in France..... Guess what? They will give me the...

    niue and tokelau

As far as I know NZ mint doesn't make anymore Fiji Taku turtles, they are now called the Niue Hawksbill Turtle. I've seen only the 1oz and 5oz at the mint, I didn't even know they were making a 2oz... maybe they are only for international markets? Anyway, they are the local low-cost bullion...

    niue and tokelau

Silly boy, for the exchange rate just look up NZD/USD. You won't be able to exchange them in any place other than Tokelau, but let me know which kind of coins (not bills) you can exchange outside their home country.

    Silver Investment Demand

It depends on the reason people bought silver. What happens if the price of silver go higher? Will the same people who bought this year flood the market to take profits or will they hold? And how big will they be compared to industrial demand?

"Sell your gold now" - $250 gold by 2020 (it is a ccy tied to the Fed)

Sure the FED can definitely try to take again the interest rate to 20%... Popcorn is ready, I really want to see this. But it won't be done under Yellen, she got a stroke just with the simple idea of a 0.25% increase.

A new idea for gold bugs

Good call once again. Very entertaining. But, really, you call this a smackdown?!?!

    Gold is Not Money

FOFOA: "of course gold is NOT money! The true and pure concept of money is basically credit. More specifically, it is the recording of current balances of credit"

    LEON's weekly COT report analysis

I do, but I'm not sure that trading on gold futures is based on the fundamentals of gold. Most likely it's based on technical analysis.

    niue and tokelau

I always asked myself if Tokelau and Niue coins can be used as legal tender in NZ. Anyway, yes. NZ mint, for instance, is completely private and cannot produce NZ legal tender coins so they make commercial agreements with the small islands. I guess that the islands maintain a seigniorage right...

    Gold is Not Money

Yes, that's fiat money! Magic money. Edit: I'm not endorsing MMT as a whole here. Only when they say that taxes drive money. Other things like: government deficit = net private savings.... Not so much convinced.

    Best World Mints

That's an interesting question. You are talking about government mints, I guess? Here there is an article about the top governments mints with few comments about them: https://www.buysilver.org/government-mints/ Some of them were extremely important in the past, and some still are today. I...
