I wondered who was buying all that rubbish off the telly at midnight!

We used to watch it late at night and see the numbers dwindling, it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Bump this is a great thread.

My worst buy was my second purchase ever, my first was a single pre 45 florin of eBay for $8 post included, then I found out about the bloody 2012 dragons.

    4 1oz dragons for $360 + $15 post, I could of got 11 or 12 ounces for that. :(

Also I bought 3 1oz snakes for ~$45ea about 3 weeks before cyber monday, so I'm not really liking PM lunar series, like at all

1992 Kooks when they were restruck.

BB had a bunch, I jumped in when they were selling at a huge premium ($40-41~/coin) thinking they were originals, only to find out after I had received them that they were restrikes and subsequently all the other dealers started undercutting each other and I ended up with something which I could sell at maybe $36~/coin and spot hadn't changed.

    Sigh.

All my 2, 10 oz and 1 kg kooks. I fear the PM will embark on its form of QE and these may just as well be 2, 10 oz and 1 kg bars...

The only purchases I've regretted after purchasing:

Two roles of 2009 kookaburras. I think they cost close to $40 per coin, which was nearly double spot. But it turns out they fetch good premiums now. Probably won't if PM decide to produce more of them.

When I purchased silver at $37 oz (AUD).

Peugeot's are awful. Almost lost my life in that car. Not sure how it was possible to survive. I have stayed clear of this car since then. Worst purchase was Windows Vista.

Many years ago I used to own a BMW (1993 model). That was enough to put me off European cars forever. Electrics were trouble. I'd be driving down the road and the windscreen wipers would come on without warning (no way to turn off). The steering box started to cease on long trips (too close to exhaust manifold). And too many other problems to list.

Now it's Toyota all the way for me.

I got mine removed 3 or 4 years ago. It was the most reassuring $2000 approx dollars I've ever spent. I payed both to receive and get rid of the metal (such is life).
The dentists whom removed the mercury compound fillings earnt every bit of their pay. They were great. It's hard to believe dentists are still using mercury compounds!. They even look aweful.
