    Trump wants NO Deal .
he said the same thing with having good relation with Russia, yet he expelled Russian diplomats and close consulate
he let the INF expired and bring us closer to arms stalemate, mid range missiles in Asia
he was rejected for trying to sell gas to Europe for 30% more expensive than Russian gas
when we were young we all broken the piggy banks before, what make him to even think that the piggy bank would not get the hammer this time :D

Better off having a trade war then a real war. China’s trade war with the world has been going on for way too long and was always going to lead to this outcome. Cause and effect.

It's time that a US president had the guts to work at stemming the flow of wealth, technology, innovation and power that has been flooding out of the USA straight into China. His job is to look after America, not to be China's little chew toy like Obama or China's little minion like Clinton. (And Rudd and Shorten).

Anything that Trump does to reduce China's ability to spend money on it's military is a blessing for Australia, hopefully extending the amount time before China is powerful enough to forcefully annexe the "giant land mass full of resources with hardly any inhabitants" to it's South that it already regards as a future Chinese empire's possession along with it's Arctic fishing grounds, New Zealand and Antarctica.

The socialist Trades Union movement carefully and systematically made sure that Australia has exactly zero fuel refining capability and therefore China can cripple us in 3 weeks without ever firing a shot by preventing the fuel tankers from Singapore bringing fuel here. Kevin Rudd followed Beijing's orders and made sure that we have no new submarines being manufactured, only the pretence of them being made. The Labor party guts and derides the Australian military whenever it can and it's minions in the universities make sure that China has intense power and propaganda capabilities in all Australian universities. The Australian Left are bought and paid for by Beijing and a few Liberal politicians are no doubt also on their payroll.

Also , don't be so sure about not having any fuel resources.
Tindal is a large, large base, and the rail link is there for one reason.
Our capability of ramping up a refining facility, is only weeks away !

If the chinese need a lesson in getting their heads punched in, then so be it.
When it gets tough, we get tough in this country, so untill then, we'll be loungin' around by the pool !
    :)

Well he's not wrong. China seems to have decided to ride this out until the next US election, hoping Dems will win. It's a great time to reflect on whether you'd want to live in a communist dictatorship or not. It's not about cuddly pandas, rest assured (ask the Tibetans).

“We don’t need China and, frankly, would be far better off without them,” the president tweeted, adding that American firms should start “looking for an alternative to China.”

yeah right, why don't you pay off the debt in GOLD right now? Trumpets

    I liked this comment

Mr Trump warned that the American public might need to endure economic pain in order to achieve long-term results.

I wonder how those being affected will feel. Time will tell.

It’s like telling your wife she is only allowed to buy 1 dress a month and go to the nail or spa salon only once a quarter. It’s hard to kick an addiction.

But once you kick the addiction, you’ll never look back. :D

Let's hope it doesn't eventually lead to a real war. If China paired up with Russia, together they could probably beat the USA.

    Too little too late IMO.

Good luck bringing manufacturing jobs back to the USA. Wages are too high, taxes are too high, and there's too much red tape.

Why should Russia pair up with China? China is the modern day equivalent of 1930 Japan. Will the Soviet Union pair up with imperial Japan against the USA?

I've never said they "should" pair up. I said "if".

I also think your assessment of modern China has grossly underestimated their capabilities.

    Here's some reasons they "might":
