I got itchy fingers this morning and made a purchase of some SBSS products having bought two each of the : 1 oz 2014 Don't Tread on Me Silver Proof-like 1 oz 2014 Standing Freedom Silver Proof-like 1 oz 2014 Liberty or Death Silver Proof-like Round 1 oz 2013 Sic Semper Tyrannis Silver Proof-like Round (Mintage 3250) 1 oz 2013 Argyraspides Silver Proof-like Round (Mintage 2850) I realize that they made go the way of the various "Art Rounds" in the future, in terms of losing their current numismatic premium, but I like them. I don't like many of their other rounds (ie Bankster) which appear cartoonish to me. In any event, silver only needs to go to $44/oz CDN for me to "break-even" on the all-in cost (S+H and Paypal fees), and I am certain that I will be keeping at least one of each of the two , for the longterm . By the way, I came across that video by Chris Duane posted earlier, this a.m. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSuOF03fH34 Video is essentially a sales pitch for his products, but it seems to have worked on me.. Cheers, Luker
This is a hefty sized coin, slightly smaller than a 5 oz America the beautiful coin. Really cool to hold.
Sorry for the artsy photo, I am borrowing a camera to take the photos and I have no idea how to correct the blue tinge that is all over it, decided it was easier to just remove all the colour, (you are just lucky that I don't have time to look for the 'Sepia Tone' Picked up some nice coins from eBay varying from VG to BU, postage was a bit of a killer from the US but the seller re-jigged the auction so that postage could be combined. These are only 72% silver and about the size of a modern aussie 50 cent piece, a bit larger and obviously without the pointy corners.
This is caused by the wrong White Balance on the camera. They have settings for Cloudy, Shade, Sun etc... so that may have been changed. Fluorescent light and incandescent put out a different colour cast. It will be in the menu under white balance. If you use any software, just select auto white balance and should improve it Sorry off topic...
I can fiddle with the settings on my own camera but this one I just set for 'Auto' and crossed my fingers.
Wow, did you know it was a proof before you sent it? Did you send it off to PCGS by yourself or did you go through someone? Congrats by the way
No I knew it was a proof I just had to get pcgs to recognize it. Luckily they had a couple of them already and had the die markers to reference
