My tip, get on the 2008 Silver Roo while you can for around $50 - it will be the next to spike in value. It has the 2nd lowest mintage of the Kangaroo series around 6,800 and will certainly be going up in value. From what I notice about the 2007 Roo's sold on feebay, quite a few are being bought and sent to Germany which is pretty interesting.
Are there variations like Lunars, ie Proof, Gilded and Coloured? I'm sure I read somewhere that the proofs had higher mintages that the BU.
Just been watching kangas at auction on ebay for the last hour, none went for under $60 and a 2007 went for $380.... Seems that they are going nuts for them at the moment.
Even the proof version went for $280 today... http://completed.shop.ebay.com.au/i...AU_Coins2&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283&_rdc=1 Kangas have been going nuts have a look at this list , one or two bargains in there but most are over the top http://completed.shop.ebay.com.au/i...AU_Coins2&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283&_rdc=1 Edited to fix link
Prices for roos are between 40 ++ on feebay. Try to buy someones in the german forums is nearly impossible, the are not so popular by investors. Main marketplace for roos is feebay. I have recogniced that the colored and the gilded are cheaper than the unc. It seems to me that in australia the gilded ones are more popular. The 2007 roo is also very high in price. I have seen some going near 200 . Last week there was one dealer having 5 in stock for 95, but they are sold out now.
And to think you can get your own 2011, carded and sealed Kanga from Steve atm for $45 a pop : http://www.auroraetluna.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=296
I tried to get some more 2008 roos from australian dealers. No more chance. All shops i have seen around 45$-55$ are sold out. Anybody here who can help (sell some) ?
I snapped up a dozen last week @ $50 a coin for the 2008 but yes look to be pretty much all gone. 2008 has a tiny mintage like 2007 so watch out for a rise in the 08 roo.
found a couple roos today for ok price - 2007 proof for $75 and 2008 for $50 but just have a newbie question - since these are popular atm, is it worth selling them now or wait? im guessing numismatics is a supply / demand thing, but do things ever go out of style? ie. will endangered red backs ever be worth spot again? or do numismatic value generally keep a steady increase?
He looks like they shaved Gimli from the lord of the rings movies, wait a minute dwarves love gold and silver......JP Morgan is a dwarf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
