Aurora et luna, Only have only been able to have part of your bar translated today, however having a work colleague write down the full translation so should be able to post it up tomorrow. The script on the left side going down the page per your picture states "Established 1848" and in regards to the script going left to right; one symbol means "Dragon" & another "Phoenix" then the writhing on the right hand side is making reference to a bank. Hopefully this will keep you intrigued until I get the rest. Supe.
A big thanks to Supedeloop for the translation of the Dragon & Phoenix bar. Script at top of pic: Old Phoenix Gold Company Down Left Side: Established 1848 yr. In brackets: Made in Ming Dynasty Era 28yrs Across the middle: Dragon, Phoenix, Happiness Right Side: Old Phoenix Gold Company Across Bottom: Old Phoenix Gold Company 30g Gold The middle with Dragon Phoenix Happiness, is a Chinese saying which is used to congratulate newly weds, and in the case of this bar it was most likely given to someone as a wedding gift
So theres a new gold kid on the block ? Any other sizes ? Whats your prices ? go on give yourself a shameless plug
A couple of really cute button bars I picked up a few days ago. Not a lot of information about the maker's mark W & M Hopefully someone here can identify the manufacturer.
It's a bit hard for me to make it out but is that definitely W&M or could it be W&H - I ask as it looks remarkably similar to the Walker&Hall Pennant mark
Also matches the Hip flask I sold here a month ago CK those buttons are going to look so good when you stitch them on your waistcoat
Just recieved these Walker and Hall babies in the post.... Going straight to the Pool Room Safe... (OK... I have no Pool Room .... Safely Stacked in a GoldStacker StackBox.)
Here is a UBS branded Kinebar.. available at 1% over spot at any branch in Switzerland... Will have to pick up a few more next time I'm over
