I picked up a couple from a member here last year when the first one came out. I think I prefer the first design but it is good to see they are changing them each year.

I wouldn't mind getting a couple or just one of the latest release if you think you will be able to get hold of any. $20 for a $20 coin with silver in it, what's not to like?

From a Canadian or American forum member you trust would be your best bet most likely.

its a high premium $22USD (after shipping) for $8 worth of silver... but hey it has a CAD face value of $20. You pay $20. It can't EVER be worth less than $20 CAD . Else you just spend it. But on ebay its already selling for near $40. great upside, very little downside. And the mintage numbers are phenomenal... $250k... thats gonna make it collectible...

Should have 3 canoes here by the end of next week...I'll let you guys know if I don't like them. Thanks to everyone here for giving me the confidence to go for it. Total for 3 canoes was CAD$72.99 shipped to the US. Shipping charge to Australia is CAD$26.99...if I recall correctly...

Is that $26.99 with the coin or just the cost of shipping?

do they still instantaneously develop white spots like the maples?

I like maples design ... but the instant white spot is really a killer.

They are four-nines silver like the other RCM coins so I imagine that they'd be equally prone to milkspots, unfortunately (assuming RCM mints, finishes and cleans them using the same processes as the maples)...

That is the shipping charge only....so 3 coins shipped to Australia should be around CAD$86.99

As a side note, Drutter says the milk spots are caused by borax residue getting baked onto the surface during the drying process. Maybe that'll give the chemists here some insight regarding how to remove them without using abrasive techniques. I've got 12 Grizzlies that are horribly spotted...the ammonia/add boiling water/ add vinegar/ add baking soda technique didn't work for me...

Iron to ship one of these coins (or actually up to 10) to Aus would costs less than 5 dollars. I have no idea where you are getting your shipping quotes. And yes that is from the States or Canada.

    ^^
That's what the Royal Canadian Mint will charge for shipping the Canoes to Australia....am I wrong? If they're charging less than $5, that's a hell of a deal. They just charged me $12.99 for shipping to USA via Fed Ex.

The $26.99 is shipping charge for Aussie's ordering directly from the Royal Canadian Mint...sorry if that wasn't clear.

So are there any Aussie's looking at getting these shipped here? I suppose a group buy isn't really possible due to the limit.

That's $26.99 Canadian, when you convert it is is only $26.69 in Australian Dollars!

I put three in my cart and then figured I would have a look to see what else they had that I could add to make it worth the postage but sadly nothing jumped out. Guess I will put them back on the shelf.

Would be $29 Australian each if someone bought three and sold each one individually. $29 and postage on top.
