Left of center when compared to Abbott, center-right when compared to everyone else. Like I said, he has a moderate conservative position and when someone asks him he can actually explain what it is in words longer than "no".
Julia's speech jacket costs around $2000. The new designer specs are by Oliver People's, worth a few hundred $$$.
With a bit of luck both party's will elect new leaders before the election. Juliar and Toxic Tony are both jokes
Malcolm Turnbull is a bankster first and an amateur social engineer. His agenda is steeped in the ruling class born to rule. As the republican advocate good ole Johnny ran him down and exposed his born to rule clique that saw the republican agenda disrailed. Thanks to the conservatives we are not yet slaves of the ruling class that want to take away our rights and give us a bill of rights that Penny Wong and Nicola Roxon the thought police would cherish. The republican mafia blew their chance to strip us of our rights they will try again. The conservatives know this but Turnbull is useful because of his bankster background. As treasurer he'd be right in there with the goldman sachs reptiles. As Prime Minister he would destroy the Liberal party and disenfranchise the small businesses that employ the vast majority of Australians. Kind Regards non recourse
I'm sorry are you selectively ignoring the context of what I'm saying. I've said twice my issue with the speech is that it was minutes after Gillard supported Slipper despite his disgusting views on female anatomy. What happened at the same time with Ashby is coincidental. I've re-highlighted the hint that I'm not talking about the Ashby affair. And Slipper is not a Lib member. He jumped ship from the party to be a Labor supporting 'Independant' while the Liberals were taking the long legal steps to turf him themselves. That's well established.
Yet he knew what he was talking about, as per the video.
Looks like the Labor party is beginning to disintegrate. ICAC and the police have removed the iron cover from the pit and the sunlight has disturbed the reptiles and they are starting to slash at each other.
According to the constitution, the Govt is supposed to go into caretaker mode once the election date has been announced or when the election writs are issued, whichever comes first. The Govt is still working on policy, legislative changes and using public funds while on an election campaign footing.
The speech when she announced the election she also announced the date the government will go into caretaker mode and have the writs issued. She's just acting preemptively. May we ever know the reasons why.
Correct, it's just unusual to have the election date announced so early. Once writs issued is caretaker mode time. Not before..
It's not actually in the constitution, it is a convention (one that largely started with Menzies I believe). Qld used to have some sort of official legislation for local eldctions.
Yea that was my understanding also - and as a convention it does not have to be followed. But Clawhammer was somewhat definitive in his statement and therefore I asked the question since I have been wrong in the past. And the convention started if I recall correctly immediately upon Federation - the government formed was a caretaker government in place to give effect to the new constitution until elections were held.
I guess we could both be wrong, but I've read my copy of the constitution lots of times and I'm 99% positive it's not in there (1% seed of doubt from CH  )
Well I was at about 0.1% but that's enough for me to ask the question. And fwiw I couldn't find it in my copy of the constitution either
Not sure about that. I know a "caretaker period" is different from a "caretaker government" (eg Fraser after tge Whitlam govt dismissal).
You're right...apologoes it's on the DPM&C link I was reading was on the GG's dismissal of Whitlam...Mea Culpa...well checked XB. P.S. Sorry, I wasn't following the thread... was ironing for a few hours..got 3 shirts done :/
