'SpannerMonkey' is the only other mechanic I know of on this site and he's been of work for nearly as long as me with personal problems.

If punching keys is so easy why don't you get a job doing that instead of complaining about the job you're in/looking to be in. If you think it's boring then putting up with boredom is also hard.

Surprisingly someone who diagnoses I use deductive reasoning and psychology to diagnose mystery illnesses or correct incorrect diagnoses made by my team. I do get my hands dirty, the human body is quite a messy area to be rooting around for clues.
