"People have a sense of self-preservation so if times get tough they'll do whatever they need to do to survive."

Being hungry does NOT give our poor unemployed 'victim' the right to take my property, or in the process endanger me or my family.

I then have the 'right' to blow his head off.

Not saying it does, only that's what ends up happening.

Dunno how your family originally ended up here, but mine arrived in chains as a result of stealing a couple of fish.

    Big AD,

One of my wife's ancestors was a 'Machine Breaker' in the Hampshire Swing Riots of 1830. He became a VERY rich man who owned about 15 acres or more of TOORAK back in the late 1800s, when an elderly aunt related to me of shooting rabbits in the paddocks of Toorak at Grange Rd. when she was a young girl.

Cloverdale Ave was his driveway to the mansion!

Three of mine were lumbered in Ireland in the middle of the Great Famine for "Killing a calf with felonious intent". Another was a 14 years old who was a bit naughty, and went for 7 years for "stealing from a building". Another for stealing a "sack and half a bushel of wheat".

Very few were sent out without at least 3 'priors'.

I have all the Convict Records.

And do you think all of those relatives of yours where inherently bad people or were they just unfortunate enough to be poor and desperate?

Certainly poor and desperate, particularly in Co Limerick, Ireland.

They did NOT have the legal or moral 'right' to kill that calf!

    renovator,

As I like to point out to my American friends, it is all THEIR fault!

Being argumentive and hard to get on with in 1776, meant we were the new dumping ground. NOW we will always be a day ahead of the Yanks!

    +1

Not to mention the governments economic policies (and other regulations) that are the SOLE cause of the depressions in the first place !
