    Dragon
Probably the same as the 2oz Red ANDA but proof.

    Edit

See BB post number 8 on this thread that says:

A maximum of 1,000 sets will be issued with just 100 available in Australia via Perth Mint wholesale and retail.
Initially, purchasers will receive six standard 2oz proof coins (dated 2008 2013) in a presentation case and six Certs.
The case has room for the final six 2oz proof coins, to be issued between 2014 and 2019.

If they _do_ go and release further 2oz lunar silver proofs into the market, I reckon there would be some very unhappy investors.

Previous 2oz proof lunars were fixed at 1000 (as part of the 3-coin set).

Funny thing is , I was talking to a dealer today & they said the same thing .
And when I told them that the Krook mintage went up to 1 million , they were amazed as to why

Reminting more bullion coins is one thing, but if they start dicking around with proof mintages and releasing new versions of proofs from years past, that will be it for me buying any new issues on release

Why pay 4+ times spot for something if it's not going to be a limited mintage ?

so they are re-minting a 1000 more of the 2008-2012 2oz proofs? Or will they be different somehow? A poor business decision either way IMO.

Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden eggs. So the modus operandi is what is our most popular and in demand products. Ok the 3 coin proof set. Lets create a new line of 1/2 oz proofs. It would too obvious to just produce new line with 2 oz proofs. Lets make it into a vertical collection set. It is not the Mint's fault ... Some German or Chinese wholesale client made us do this.

What next lunar proof with privy mark, ultra high relief proof with Queen side gilded, lunar proof with actual moon landing poo insert. Sorry about rant but they have further devalued the 3 coin silver proof set.

Well, thats it for me. I will continue to get 1 x 1oz silver proof to complete the set, and that will do it.

This is a new low from the Perth Mint.

No it's actually worse than that.

As the 2oz proof has only been available in the 3 coin set in series 2 so far, the total population of 2oz lunar proofs has just gone from:

    2008 Mouse - 365 to 1,365
    2009 Ox - 340 to 1,340
    2010 Tiger - 1000 to 2000
    2011 Rabbit - 1000 to 2000
    2012 Dragon - 1000 to 2000

They did exactly the same thing to the kookaburra series with privies in the 90s - produced so many different issues everybody got sick of it.
Sales of proof kooks got so low in the early 2000s that the series was abandoned in 2005.
Obviously memories don't go back very far at the Perth Mint.

Ok this may be a dumb question but what will the mintage limits be on the next 6 2oz proof coins? I'm guessing one of two things happening,
    1) the perth mint produces only 1000 individual 2oz proof coins each year for the next 6 years creating an overinflated secondary market as the holders of the original 1000 sets are forced to pay huge preimiums to compleat their sets by buying from the secondary market.

    2) the perth mint sets a higher mintage limit of the remaining 6 2 oz coins leaving excess half finished sets that will be almost worthless floating around on the secondary market.

Either way decision has been made made for me, bullion and bullion only from the Perth Mint, they have screwed around with the numi stuff too much to have one 100th of an ounce of trust from me to add anything but bullion to my collection.

The 3 coin snake silver proof set is officially a dud in Australian markets. Selling for less than retail price( less if you consider ebay / paypal fees).

There is still strong demand in the overseas market. I sold a couple of sets to US / German / Chinese buyers for > $550. Maybe there more demand overseas or news has not filtered through about PM trending with mintage numbers.
